They absolutely thought we'd be beyond gutted over this. Thats why they've swarmed over this thread. Its been very funny to watch tbf.No outrage required. The facts speak for themselves. If that upsets them well that’s their problem. Surely they didn’t think there wouldn’t be a down side to this.
Not at all like them to utterly fail to “read the room”They absolutely thought we'd be beyond gutted over this. Thats why they've swarmed over this thread. Its been very funny to watch tbf.
Sigh. Without wishing to reopen the controversy, it would be disingenuous if I didn't mention the circumstances of Di Canios arrival. I thought it was handled abysmally. The media frenzy which followed it was deeply unedifying - these things often are - but it originated from the resignation of David Miliband, one of Sunderland's own directors, a former Foreign Secretary, and a man whose family fled to Britain to escape persecution from fascism. Whether or not you accept his motivation, it was that which made the ISSUE of Di Canio's alleged political views relevant, heightened by our region's push to eradicate intolerance from society in general and football in particular. The tone of outrage from the club was misplaced. Di Canio addressed it; fine, good, that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned, albeit with a caveat. For all the accompanying dismay, one of the great pleasures of covering Sunderland over the years has been the club's firm sense of place, tradition and community. For me, that has been dented. And I hate writing that.
George Caulkin 2013.
I might be off the mods radar for a bit might get a full month in for first time in 2yrSome Seaham bloke earlier and Fitzgerald.
But will pork products, woman and LGBT be allowed into Sid James Halhal Park again?
But but dicanio. As if he’s even in the same universe as the SaudisHas this been retweeted. Sounds like it's rules for one...
I was just thinking people should keep tweeting Caulkins own words to himHas this been retweeted. Sounds like it's rules for one...

Sudden interest. What can I do about these people? I live 300 miles away, i personally don't know any of them.
I'm laughing at the way this board has reacted to the takeover.
I'm pretty sure it was mocked for years on here, and yet here we are. Now there's a sudden interest in the behaviour of the Saudi regime. It's a bit late now as that shit has been going on for years.
I don't know what you expect the average Newcastle fan to do. I've followed them for decades seeing them get beat everywhere. Am I supposed to stop what is my main interest because someone who I don't like has sold them to someone I like even less? Am I supposed to come up with a solution to the problems in the middle east?
The funniest thing about this is you lot seem to have accepted that Newcastle will be bank rolled to win trophy after trophy. I'm not even convinced that these lot will put in that much so success is not guaranteed. You have one owner who can't have that much money to her name, another who appear to have money but not enough to buy the club outright. Is the 80% owner going to fund most of the investment?
TBH, since the news broke some on this board have gone on like raging fannies.
I was just thinking people should keep tweeting Caulkins own words to him![]()
I genuinely don't think they can comprehend that we're not disappointed, in fact the opposite. I just dont think they can get their heads around it. Which says everything. Not at all like them to utterly fail to “read the room”
Haha. Going on about faux outrage...
All I can see if people pointing out the takeover for what it is. I dont think anyone is outraged. As much as they desperately want us to be.

I did. f***ing hate them. This was last year after they'd been linked with the Mags (and a whole 3 pages of very little outrage at that).
I'll repeat, before they were linked with them nobody gave a toss. It's all just faux outrage. We need to sit tight, continue building our club as is currently happening and just hope that somehow it goes tits up for them. If anyone can mess this up, it's the mags.
Is that outrage or sympathy to someone utterly destroyed by your abhorrent owners?Setting up a fundraising page for Khashoggi says otherwise mind.
Like I said in the post that's just daft.
They’ve given us a lifetimes ammunition with this. They are about to be crucified ( appropriate as their new gaffers are quite partial) but we don’t need to do it should we choose not to. We can just sit back and watch it all unfold.I think it's all been very tame, they probably expected us to be in total meltdown, which completely hasn't been the case. We're merely pointing out their double standards and hypocrisy.

Why are you lot totally incapable of understanding what outrage actually means?

What did you think the day of 9/11Yes you're right
It's green eyes
Pure and simple
Can't blame you lot. Noses pressed up against the window again .
It'll be like the Keegan era on steroids
Be rude not to mateAnd then crucify them when it all goes tits up.
