This was last year after they'd been linked with the Mags (and a whole 3 pages of very little outrage at that).

I'll repeat, before they were linked with them nobody gave a toss. It's all just faux outrage. We need to sit tight, continue building our club as is currently happening and just hope that somehow it goes tits up for them. If anyone can mess this up, it's the mags.
 there’s pages and pages ffs. There’s a search function. Can’t be arsed sorting it for you.
You seem an expert on what’s gone on the last ten year here discussion wise even though you’ve just joined!

What can I do about these people? I live 300 miles away, i personally don't know any of them.

I'm laughing at the way this board has reacted to the takeover.

I'm pretty sure it was mocked for years on here, and yet here we are. Now there's a sudden interest in the behaviour of the Saudi regime. It's a bit late now as that shit has been going on for years.

I don't know what you expect the average Newcastle fan to do. I've followed them for decades seeing them get beat everywhere. Am I supposed to stop what is my main interest because someone who I don't like has sold them to someone I like even less? Am I supposed to come up with a solution to the problems in the middle east?

The funniest thing about this is you lot seem to have accepted that Newcastle will be bank rolled to win trophy after trophy. I'm not even convinced that these lot will put in that much so success is not guaranteed. You have one owner who can't have that much money to her name, another who appear to have money but not enough to buy the club outright. Is the 80% owner going to fund most of the investment?

TBH, since the news broke some on this board have gone on like raging fannies.
You say you can't help these people who live 300 miles away. But have a picture of Alexandria Oscasio Cortez as your avatar. How can her politics help a bloke living in the North East of England? She has always spoke out the US selling arms to Saudi Arabia and about Saudi Arabia's human rights. So I assume your political leanings aren't as strong winning trophies?

Also, if Donald Trump or Benjamin Netanyahu bought the club what would your feels be?

Rough translation

For importance and clarification:

There are those who promote incorrect information about the settlement of billions as compensation to the (BN Sport) group, and the confirmed fact is that the (BN Sports) group did not obtain a broadcast permit inside the Kingdom, and it is obliged to pay fines and violations exceeding 600 million Saudi riyals according to the provisions and decisions in force.
Even if bollocks, it does point to how tenuous that particular agreement could be, and also makes me wonder what happens if it does fall through at any point. My guess is the PL haven't thought that far ahead.

I've been going through to watch Sunderland for 45 years. In all those years I've never heard Saudi human rights issues being debated in the pub before or after the match which would indicate that, up until now, it's never been a pressing issue for us to even stir up a debate. The best you could manage using the search function on here was a piddling 3 page thread from last year when the Saudis were first linked to them. Nothing before that.

They money they have is what bothers me the most. In saying that it doesn't guarantee them anything and we can only hope it isn't spent wisely. I'm more concerned with the direction we are going in, which at the moment is the right one at last.

They’ve been told to get it done. If it all goes tits up they’ll be the ones carrying the can. The tories will deny all knowledge.

😂 Why would you hear football supporters talking about politics before and after a match? You musn't be looking hard, there's loads of stuff on here before April 2020 when the Mag thing first came up.

Yes you're right

It's green eyes

Pure and simple

Can't blame you lot. Noses pressed up against the window again .

It'll be like the Keegan era on steroids

There's always a wide range of subjects spoken about before the match, certainly not just football. Human rights in Saudi Arabia has never been one in any of the pubs I've frequented however.
