Me too. I never agreed with it and always backed Ashley. I actually thank him for saving the club and giving it a go.
He made massive mistakes on top of doing some good things.
The harmony of him and certain fans crumbled and created a monster than just got bigger and bigger when success wasn't forthcoming but relegation and subsequent promotion as champions changed all that....for a short while.

Like I said with morals. It's subjective.

Look at it this way.
An arab with empty pockets and bluster with this reputation would be exactly that. He would be campaigned against because nobody would want an owner who blags his way forward for 5 minutes. The atrocities would be foremost in the minds at this time...used as the battering ram.

However ( and this does not just go for Newcastle United fans) if the owner is rich and promises massive ambition and can appear to back it up then morals go out of the window. Like I said, morals are subjective.

I'd say any sets of fans to be fair.

Some would, but it does go for all sets of fans. This comes down to moral high ground which is also subjective.

Other people begrudging will not alter the elation of the fans who are on the end of the joys of winning the trophy, by hook or by crook.

I didn't protest. I actually liked Ashley and understood he wasn't a cash on the hip money machine.
His biggest mistake was in trying to be a fan and one of the lads and thinking brining a one time messiah in would catapult him into the big time.

From there it was a roller coaster ride.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a personal attack at you. As I mentioned you do make some valid points, and trust me I have no doubt there would be owls fans who would be creaming their pants if the Saudi's had bought us.

It's the lack of any substantial protest from your support as a whole that sticks in the throat.

I'm merely giving my opinions, not defending myself. I have nothing to defend about myself.

The Reuben brothers are already heavily invested in the city.
If this set up ultimately drips down the north east, are people going to give it up? I doubt it.
Like Sunderland will ever see any of that money. We got fuck all from the so called Tyne and Wear development and the city was left to rot whilst you lot thrived from
Sunderland tax payer money.

Time to get organised
let's see how many people we can get to run all future Great North Runs - wearing t-shirts with the above cartoon
sponsorship money for Amnesty International and similar charities
freedom of expression - they would not dare stop us
spread the word to other football forum's and the mainstream media
this is not a Sunderland fight - but a fight for our sporting integrity .

That will only come in pockets.
It will only ever come in larger masses if the fans don't get what they think they're promised. But that goes for all, like I said earlier.

Again, it's morals and subjectivity.

To b fair this stinks of mere hatred and jealousy.

Fine but people have a football club they have allegiance to, not the owners. It just so happens the new owners are very rich and are looked upon as nasties. That's out of the fans' hands and very few fans will desert the club they love. It doesn't mean they agree with the external mindset of the owners.

To be fair I won't be looking at it this way.
I'll just be enjoying better enjoyable football based on the players who perform and hopefully give me more joy, like any fan really.

Whatever you want to call it.

Really?
Tell me how they can stop it?
Fuck me man"looked upon as Nasties" You're not for real ya muppet.

Only time will tell in which way something is spawned.
It could be a takeover based on the north east getting one rich set up.
