NUFC/Sportwashing

When was the last time NUFC did?
We're going to go round in circles on this mind if the mags keep up the whataboutery. A football club should represent the community and the fans. The fans should have a voice when it comes to who is in charge. Disney is different, they've got some shares. Yes you could choose to boycott every company they have shares in but, given how many dodgy regimes have shares in various companies, you might be left with very few products and services to use.

That's not the same as this though. If the mags genuinely had a conscience they could say that they don't want this regime associated with their club and their city. It reflects on the supporters much more than whether they subscribe to Disney+. Effectively your club is now Saudi Arabia. Many of your fans say Ashley hated you, your new owners are hardline Islamics who no doubt take a very dim view of the common image of Newcastle. They basically think you're infidels but they'll use you for their own purposes. I don't really give a fuck if some shareholders from a streaming company I use think I'm an infidel. I wouldn't want it from the owners of my football club though. I wouldn't want them using my club's name to sportswash their image. If you're fine with it then crack on, loads of ours would be too, but stop the whataboutery, it does you no favours and drags the thread in circles

You’ve been told that financially he knew what he was doing and had the club in a very good position. It’s not his fault you haven’t got a f***ing clue how it works. Which is clear by what you’ve said above…

Grateful? You rancid ***** turned up at his house ffs
Love how they refer to Bruce as the Man U @@@@
At the start of his appointment they were singing he’s one of our own cos he’s a born n bred ‘Jordy’
Total hypocrisy

Why the fck would people who castrate gays, pay a billion quid to Qatar and bribe Boris give a shit about FFP? And why would a PL who has bent over backwards to let them in suddenly start coming down hard on them?? 😂😂😂

The 'big 6' would probably throw their toys out of the pram. Yes, as you say, there's ways and means to get round it, but all this 'patience' talk and immediately managing expectation suggest they don't want to pour a fuck load of money on the team straight away. The top players can't be recruited for money alone when they can get that AND Champions League football AND live somewhere where the weather isn't shite and has more than a Card Factory/Primark/B&Ms for their wives to go shopping.

Do you think those clubs would be in for Countinho ? I'm not so sure.

They would certainly have to offer him more in wages, but I don't think his price would be inflated. If those clubs wanted him, they would have bid sooner. It's no secret Barca want rid.

Coutinho and the Barca "fringe players" would walk into a lot of decent top flight sides in Europe.
If you are still in the relegation zone when the window opens, you will probably be competing with them for his signature. Maybe not with Juventus and Man Utd. Maybe with West Ham and Leicester. But the point remains the same. To get that player (if you are a relegation threatened club in January - which is very possible) you are going to have to pay over the odds money in salary and transfer/agents fees. And probably offer longer contracts. West Ham and Leicester are probably more appealling to the Barca fringe than Newcastle are in the relegation zone.

January is rarely a buyers market, and you won't be the only club looking to strengthen

Have to love listening to mags attempting to justify how having a owner who is a murdering, gay hating bastard, is the same as Sandra from norfolk using Facebook.

Both ultimately to blame. The absolute bitch.

Sandra from Norfolk isn’t dancing round silicone valley in Arabic clothing with a Saudi flag. Their investment in Uber hasn’t prompted legions of people to put Saudi flags in their Twitter handles.

Different situations, different outcomes.

All these rainbow flags, players apparently kneeling in protest of discrimination. Turns out it's all a load of b*llocks. These people can't hope to be taken seriously in future.
Pity really but sky , P League and Government cant really preach now.

Nor can Newcastle pride

You aren't taking into the account the effect the pandemic has had on finances either. West Ham for example couldn't afford to buy Lingard.

I'm not denying we will have to pay the players more, we probably always will but we won't necessarily be held to ransom on fees.

There are also some good free transfers we can try and secure for next season and no I do not mean Mbappe.
