NUFC/Sportwashing

Even if they aren't in the relegation zone they'd have to pay a premium. Newcastle aren't an elite club, they can't offer champions league football (even if they get Europa eventually it'll do little as its such a devalued competition), so he'd need a massive wedge (and then you wonder how committed he'd be).

This takeover definitely gives them hope from a footballing perspective. There's a chance that IF the Saudis really want to have a top team they could bankroll them. Issue is they're going to be closely watched around FFP, especially with every other club in the league against them coming in. They'll need to do what City did and build slowly. That's probably not easy to do though, especially with the extra restrictions in place nowadays. If they don't get the right people to oversee recruitment etc they could struggle. Again, a few years of wasted money won't hit the Saudi bottom line, but it'll make FFP even harder to adhere to. The ones thinking they'll be winning the league in 5 years are likely being massively optimistic
Bizarrely, the stringent ways MA has run us in the past, will allow us to spend heavily if and when that's what they want to do. It's actually odd to think that we could potentially need to be grateful to MA 😲

There was a mag on Facebook proclaiming that Newcastle would be the first big club where the fans all came from the City. It was posted by someone that was in born in Stockton and lives in Stockton
I'd imagine most of their match day crowd comes from outside Newcastle.
(Although a lot of Mags would claim to live in Newcastle despite coming from Gateshead or Whitley Bay)

The fat man u knacker? Bruce? Haway man. He didn't do much worse than Benitez had been doing last season. This season has been a bad start but you've got, what, 30 games left and you're hardly adrift at present. If you go down, even with a potential January spending spree, then the new manager would have done a shit job
Benitez was the Messiah though 🙄🙄🙄

To be fair we've been saying that for years. He's ran you pretty well and kept you in the Premier league (largely, whilst ensuring you get straight back when you've dropped), whilst making you an attractive proposition for a takeover from people with the money to push you on. Wouldn't say I'm an Ashley fan but I do think your lot have gone on ridiculous about him. Thing is though, aye it gives some wriggle room, but not much in terms of all the work you'd need to do to push towards top 4. Not unless they run the thing well and make the right appointments

I really thought that the LBGT community in Newcastle would have been one of the few groups to have the balls and decency to criticise this whole thing.
United With Pride aren't the wider Newcastle LGBT community though, they're a subset who seem much more interested in keeping their close links and their 'in' with the club than the fact that the club's new owners behead men for being gay.

Will protest against MA cos he didn’t spend loads of money and 0 hour contracts

Won’t protest against the decapitators because there’s nowt they can do about their owners so will carry on supporting the team.

The Western democracies do nothing about the Saudi's.

Still sell them weapons. BAE Systems make a lot of money off them.

So if you work for BAE or a company that supplies them, your wages partly come from them.

Do you use Facebook and Twitter?

Subscribe to the Disney Channel?

I wanted Mike Ashely to leave the Club but didn't want the Saudi's to come in.

I've worked in the UAE and they were bad enough and they are almost Amnesty International in comparison.

However, I know I will still get excited if we start to compete. 95% of you lot on here and any other club's fans would be the same in this position.

The reality is that NUFC now have some massive backing. How much is going to be spent is another question. My guess is a lot but there will be investment in the Academy. the ground and some local stuff as well. Otherwise, the "sportwashing" won't work.

Will we be relegated this season? Very possibly. The fat Man U knacker has seen to that. We could be completely cut adrift by January.

If we survive, then I would expect a top 10 finish next season and pushing for top 6 the season after. They have not bought in to this to finish 17th.

If we are relegated then it moves everything back a year.
This Facebook and Disney patter is tedious and not the same at all as they were basically minority shareholders, plus I'm sure they sold those shares last year anyway.

We haven't won a game. We have played Wolves, Watford, Leeds and Southampton. It's terrible.

Last season was not a normal season by any account.

When was the last time Disney bombed kids in Yemen?

From what they've already said, I think - apart from maybe signing a few bandaid players in January to prevent relegation - the main plan will be to get the right coaches, training and academy infrastructure in place. It'll certainly not be an Abramovichesque splurge, because the FFP wouldn't allow it anyway (as others have already said).

Comparing the British government rushing through procurement contracts during a crisis, to a regime that beheads, stones, and crucifies its own citizens, while commiting genocide in neighbouring countries.

"We can hardly say any thing"
Give your head a shake.
Haha 😂 There is a clear line that runs through both and if you can’t see that then your heads firmly buried pal. Point is however much I or you are opposed to a regime (home or abroad) we do fuck all about it. So unless you are going to protest, create an opposition group, join amnesty international then my point still stands.

 pathetic the way people whataboutistise about fckin Disney! I'm a middle aged bloke why the f would I be sitting around watching Disney
Also I hate facebook, an not on Twitter and have never sold arms to anyone last time I looked.
the sportswashing is working already. It works every time Amanda lies. It's working even in your sad post!

the only ones who get beheaded are the really gay ones who say things like oh you are awful but i like you and im free etc etc

You're still only a few games in though. More than enough time for anyone else to turn it around, especially when you'll have a financially backed transfer window. I know your lot absolved Benitez of all blame last relegation (even though he had time to save you) but this time there'd be even less excuse to put all the blame on the last incumbent

You’ve been told that financially he knew what he was doing and had the club in a very good position. It’s not his fault you haven’t got a f***ing clue how it works. Which is clear by what you’ve said above…

Grateful? You rancid ***** turned up at his house ffs

Why the fck would people who castrate gays, pay a billion quid to Qatar and bribe Boris give a shit about FFP? And why would a PL who has bent over backwards to let them in suddenly start coming down hard on them?? 😂😂😂

They’re still absolutely hating the ISIS FC comments on my end. No matter what they say in their windups this simple comment is enough to upset them
