Perhaps, if we all wear a tea towel on the head, some friendly Arab chap will pick up the restaurant bill pet?Tempting as it is I'll wait until Mbappe is insitu... Will cheer on the boys in red and white from a suitable distance

Id be fuming if we signed Alf Haaland like, he's got to be 50 now. They're a match made in heaven and it will all end in tears. All I see is another consortium with more money than sense looking for a status symbol and a vehicle their new form of diplomacy, but the game has moved on since 2004 and 2008 and simply throwing money at everything won't work, not that they appear intent on spending too much anyway. They'll get some investment in the area but I don't see it being a million miles away from Short's approach and look how that ended.
Just wait for their reaction when their first megastar is Aaron Ramsey and not Alf Haaland. Anyone that has looked into the detail of this knows that it's not going to be another Manchester City or Chelsea. They might be an Aston Villa at best, and perhaps that's something for them.
Is there a layby near the Amputation Arena?Apparently they're going to do something big for Keegan. Either a statue or naming a stand after him!
Already said he had a bigger offer.Wonder if Ashley is going to spill the beans when he finally leaves. Could be fun
I really hope it’s true about Keegan and Shearer as it means they are pandering to the bedsheet brigade rather than developing a proper strategy. That will waste at least a year by which time the tendency to shout at shops will begin to surface again.
PIF is essentially the sovereign investment fund. It has two purposes - firstly to secure the wealth of Saudi Arabia by growing its investments. Secondly to create positive PR for the country. 300 million for Newcastle which likely needs at twice that much again to get into champions league positions does not seem to be something that is going to make money. So we can only assume the purchase is for PR purposes. It will be interesting to see what they do to try and achieve that - renaming the stadium is pretty much nailed on. If the current wave of protest at the purchase gathers any momentum then that creates a problem for them. I think they have bought Newcastle as one of the best options to move a big club relatively quickly to the upper echelons of the EPL - and that is probably correct. However I doubt it’s possible to do a Man City now - it will take more like 5-8 years. Will the Jihadi Geordies settle for that? Add in the Stavely effect which will more than likely cost them time then this could be interesting.
One of the reasons the bone saw boys bought you is because of how Ashley put the club on a sustainable financial footing they have a big FFP ceiling. You’ve picked one window or season out of 14. The fact remains that investment into NUFC was amongst the worst in any Premier league club over his tenure. There’s stats out there to prove it. Even clubs like Bournemouth and Watford have out spent us recently. And Sunderland under Short spent significantly more than Newcastle. Anyway, it’s old ground, we have our views on Ashley and there’s more to it than money, he was just an arse in my book and can never be forgiven for Joe Kinnear and Dennis Wise.
Exactly. It’s amazing how the Newcastle fans have just decided in their own heads that the takeover is some sort of guarantee of huge success. As you say, it will probably take years for them to compete at the top and knowing them lot, their patience will quickly run out. Nobody knows the real motivation yet of the group. Let’s say they spend 200m next summer. What will that achieve? For sure they will have a better squad and more enjoyable football which is a real positive, but it won’t get them near the top 6.I really hope it’s true about Keegan and Shearer as it means they are pandering to the bedsheet brigade rather than developing a proper strategy. I still have the authentic get up somewhere. The Saudis preferred the red and white iircPerhaps, if we all wear a tea towel on the head, some friendly Arab chap will pick up the restaurant bill pet?
The Bairn has still got his anarl. I doubt it will compliment that of his missus!!!!I still have the authentic get up somewhere. The Saudis preferred the red and white iirc
Que sera sera, the future is not ours to see. Except, it was certain it would have gone pear shaped for Newcastle under Ashley. It was Benitez who stopped them going the way of Sunderland and he did not have such a decorated coach to rescue him next time.
Probably have an NDAWonder if Ashley is going to spill the beans when he finally leaves. Could be fun

Class, sign the players the big clubs don’t want. Basically what Everton have been doing for the last 5-6 years. You must be logged on to see media items
Enquired about Martial before they've even settled on a manager...

this season will be interesting as I suspect the other 19 Premier league teams will be extra motivated to beat them. Wonder how big the celebration will really be next week as they go 0-3 down to Spurs
I just came to post that. It’s a striking image but one that won’t perturb them one little bit, sadly@DickinsonTimes: The incomparable @BrookesTimesYou must be logged on to see media items

we all remember how his love of Newcastle United caused him to dig deep into his bulging pockets and fund two years of transfers out of his personal funds. what a saint.Que sera sera, the future is not ours to see.
