Given that you're an average 3rd division team and are likely to be so for a good few years I think it's safe to say that you are not rivals.
Newcstle will never ever play in the 3rd division and Sunderland will never ever play in the Champions League - to summarize, you are not rivals. :D :D :D
How you doing in league 2 ya f***ing Muppet

I would like to say it was deliberate to see who was really paying attention!!!
The sensible don't think it is Mbappe, or that ilk, as it is years too soon for that standard of signing.
Gossip column on BBC mentions Kane, which just fuels the idiot brigade. If we sign in January it is likely to be a step above what we could have been expecting last week. Anyone who thinks, or expects, 3-4 steps above will be disappointed. We are, a minimum, of 5 years away from that type of marquee arrival.

As an outsider it will be interesting watching this develop. I don't know a footballers psyche. I guess you can't be insecure or doubt yourself to make it to Prem but if I am thinking there is no chance I will be around next season and my levels drop it could be interesting.

I get and understand you're ecstatic Ashley has gone but there was another bigger offer on the table which he turned down. If he had of chosen that offer instead I doubt you lot would be celebrating half as much as you are now.

It's called the truth, You must be loving the Saudis mind as the last Bradford Pete I remember was a serial killer so these lot are right up your street
ashley being the astute business man should have played one off against the other but didnt because there was tory party donations

The mags can have the money, I wouldn’t want scumbags like that owning SAFC. The bit that sticks in my craw is the badly done to Newcastle fans patter from the local journalists, who seem to think we, unlike the filth, don’t deserve any better. They said practically fuck all when Short had given up and our club was being gutted.

I but it affected their mental health wtf !!!!

would have implications if they were to ever qualify for Europe again if this happened
You mean they want to invest in the Milan region also ? I thought, they thought, the mags were the only club for them.

Just seen they've got Keegan and Shearer on board already as "ambassadors" 😂

Feeding the Geordie Nayshun what they want from the start.
I really hope it’s true about Keegan and Shearer as it means they are pandering to the bedsheet brigade rather than developing a proper strategy. That will waste at least a year by which time the tendency to shout at shops will begin to surface again.
PIF is essentially the sovereign investment fund. It has two purposes - firstly to secure the wealth of Saudi Arabia by growing its investments. Secondly to create positive PR for the country. 300 million for Newcastle which likely needs at twice that much again to get into champions league positions does not seem to be something that is going to make money. So we can only assume the purchase is for PR purposes. It will be interesting to see what they do to try and achieve that - renaming the stadium is pretty much nailed on. If the current wave of protest at the purchase gathers any momentum then that creates a problem for them. I think they have bought Newcastle as one of the best options to move a big club relatively quickly to the upper echelons of the EPL - and that is probably correct. However I doubt it’s possible to do a Man City now - it will take more like 5-8 years. Will the Jihadi Geordies settle for that? Add in the Stavely effect which will more than likely cost them time then this could be interesting.

They are certainly not going to be risking an injury.

Not quite £80M in one summer, but you spent £60M on 4 players in summer 15/16, then another £30M in the winter transfer window - that’s £90M in one season!

You’ve picked one window or season out of 14. The fact remains that investment into NUFC was amongst the worst in any Premier league club over his tenure. There’s stats out there to prove it. Even clubs like Bournemouth and Watford have out spent us recently. And Sunderland under Short spent significantly more than Newcastle. Anyway, it’s old ground, we have our views on Ashley and there’s more to it than money, he was just an arse in my book and can never be forgiven for Joe Kinnear and Dennis Wise.
