NUFC/Sportwashing

Of course they won't. You've even got their LGBQT lot championing them. They sports washed an entire city.

Our Tory government absolutely stinks though.
Got one work colleague who said he felt sick yesterday and said he won’t be going again, however I know a few others who said they wouldn’t go back if the Saudis took over but now they are celebrating.

And I'll bet every left leaning nufc fan will be totally against the Saudis with their appalling human rights record and a man who has given hundreds of thousands to the Conservative Party being in charge of NUFC. Or maybe not...
f***ing hell man the female Labour Party MP with African ancestry is blowing smoke up their arses - you know the same arabs that invented the African slave trade.

So just to be clear -

(1) The U.K. government stepped in to have a meeting with the EPL, in order to usher through the acquisition of an EPL club by a foreign entity.

(2) The EFL then clears the deal, on the basis that it has “legal assurances” that the party buying the club is NOT the state of Saudi Arabia.

(3) The UK government now can’t release details of its meeting, as to do so could affect its relations with the Saudi STATE.

They really should have spent more time getting their story straight.

Exactly.

Some of them seemed to have a lot of belief in their power to influence the outcome when it looked like it wasn’t going their way:

Michael Martin writing in True Faith in April 2020, when it looked set to go through:

We’ve also heard some coverage related to human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia. No person of conscience would seriously overlook this. However, we the supporters of Newcastle United, being teed up by journalists to object to the takeover really matter here. All about the empty headlines and clicks to satisfy their bosses.

We don’t have a say. Just like we didn’t have a say when Prince Charles attended the funeral of King Abdullah of the House of Saud with the Prime Minister David Cameron in 2015

Michael Martin writing in True Faith later in 2020, when the PL initially pulled the plug:

Now is the time for leadership and calm heads. It is right the NUST is sharing its correspondence with the PL regards the legal counsel it has received. It is right NUST has written to the PL demanding a meeting to present the questions we all have. It is correct NUST will write to the Sports Minister and I would push further and demand Masters, Bush and the rest of them are brought to parliament to answer questions put by the relevant Select Committee.

This “waah, we don’t get a say” nonsense is just another strand of the many strands of dishonesty we’ve seen from prominent mags during this. The nature of the Saudi’s aims means that this was one of the few protests they could have had that had a very realistic chance of swift success. There was just no desire from any of them to do it because none of them were remotely bothered about the issues with the Saudis, because they’re a group of utter scumbags.

They'll end up doing what they did 15 years ago, paying over the odds for big name players who are past their best such as Michael Owen who only came for the super inflated salary.

Correct.
And internationals who are injured until a month before a tournament.

They will end up with a team of "stars" who are surplus at their own club, and simply dont want to be there.

I am confident, relegated this year and then watch it all fall apart.
I hope Amanda has a reservation at the mental health retreat she is regularly confined to.

Havnt had tv on or radio in van since wednesday but had to put up with fuckers at work all day

They’re already wanting to extend the stadium.

Absolutely annoying as fuck weird breed of people like.

I’m over the moon with our future direction and owners
Jealousy isn’t in me about Newcastle it’s not our club, let them crack on.
I’m sure there will be a few belly laughs along the way with them and getting carried away with potential signings.
Happy days for us, nothing else matters

Same - I’m fairly unbothered by it and actually intrigued to see how it all plays out. I think that’s because I’m happy with our direction of travel. Very early days that’s the only - big - caveat. Last year though it seemed far worse which can only be because we were stuck with Charlie and Stewart and looked like the team was stagnating
