Shearer talking a bit sense on BBC breakfast.
Then why are so many of you such insufferable pricks?Feel free Jack.
We are now richer than we were under Ashley. Under Ashley we were richer than we were under Shepherd. Under Shepherd we were richer than when we had Seymour.
This has changed. The supporters have not. In the main we are the same as you lot. Working class folk who have seen the club win nowt. Go to games expecting nowt. The supporters, of both clubs, are the thing that has long marked us out as being special. The crowds both clubs attract are exceptional under any metric you care to utilise. The away support is second to, almost, none.
All these riches guarantee only one thing. We should improve. We are a long, long way behind West Ham and Everton who should be the initial target. We are, in my opinion, a decade of heavy investment, astute management and luck behind Man City, LFC, Chelsea and Man Utd.
Talk of League titles in 5 years is just madness. Qualifying for the Champions League in 5 years would be a huge success.
said he wished he was from Sunderland and hates the mags. What's he said?
said he wished he was from Sunderland and hates the mags.
serious note he mentioned human rights etc that they need to learn from it.
I'll make a confident prediction now that they will be threatening fuck all in the way of trophies in the next 10 years but it's all about opinions I suppose.Unfortunately I think that it is reasonably inevitable now.
I'm not saying it won't ever happen. Prices will rise when we get back there I agree but by then KLD will have a better understanding of the club and its fans (2 promotion parties laterWhy so confident?
You have no idea of what will happen when you get back to Premier League.
It would be a shame if it happens at either club as the support has been / is the only thing that sets us apart from the majority of clubs. Lose that and you really do lose the club.
I've not seen it, but probably just described what everyone can see has just happened with no analysis or insight. What's he said?

Invalid/outdated Link Removed you are getting confused between Isis and Saudia Arabia.Pretty much agree. I don't blame the mags for getting carried away. If it was us, the reaction would have been similar (hopefully with less tea towels on heads but you never know). We'd have those completely opposed to it, quite a lot saying they would rather it wasn't them but it isn't their place to get involved, and those loving it.
The biggest disappointment for me has been the politicians and the authorities. The Premier league, who seemed to be rejecting them partly because of the human rights record, but who will actually pretend they aren't linked to the Saudi state as soon as they sort out a purely financial piracy issue. The MP who, rightly, condemns some of Ashley's business practice and suggests he's unsuitable to be in the game, but who welcomes a much worse regime into the fold.
The league will support some rainbow laces whilst approving a deal which brings in people who throw gays off buildings. It shows all their campaigns to be the shallow, PR exercises that we know them to be. Then I notice even the Newcastle LGBTQ supporters group haven't commented (maybe that will happen, but their twitter is silent so far and if they don't oppose this then they aren't fit for purpose).
Don't want it to seem like sour grapes, there are actually some decent mags and there's plenty of them who aren't much different to us. They'll enjoy the ride and, although I naturally hope they win fuck all, there are a few that I'd struggle to begrudge getting some hope. But the way those in a position to influence or block it have allowed it to happen with barely a whimper is a disgrace. They could look to reform the fit and protest person test but, genuinely, why bother? They've already let this bloke in, the horse has bolted
No Internet in Cullercoats like?Away on holiday, anything happened I should be aware of?
