Sadly one would have to assume this is the case. I'm really surprised (unless they're being drowned out) about the lack of concern from Newcastle fans
Both drowned out and also something that'll likely happen later on. Today is a celebration of the end of Ashley, tomorrow's troubles come tomorrow.

@LittlerGeordie: Steve Wraith has just claimed on Sky Sports that the reason Amanda Staveley bought NUFC was because of a conversation she had with him. FML. 🤡 Me, me and me. #NUFC
Rumour has it Steve Wraith is set to play Amanda Staveley in the upcoming, straight to VHS movie:
Boom! Boom! Black and White Army - How the Taliban Toon conquered Europe.

I’ll be interested to see the levels of investment that go into our academy moving forward though. Every success previously & even the likes of Neil now benefitted from what we already had in place. You have to remember that over the last 3-4 year we have lost a fair few staff members that were highly regarded in the set up. I know the Mags took one of our key recruiters & Leeds took someone else that was highly rated within our set up. We’ve been totally run down by absolute wankers and we’re only now trying to rebuild. Even now we still couldn’t hold onto the lad that went to Everton.

I take your point on being a place to give young players a chance but at the same time we are in league 1 & there’s a lot of clubs looking that way. Look at the success Southampton have had taking Livramento from Chelsea too so I am sure clubs will be looking at that. My point is on young players in the region going to Newcastle if they invest properly in their infrastructure.

We’ve also hired a few who are highly rated, and are investing which you’ve referred to as ‘rebuilding’

There’s no guarantee the Mags are going to invest properly either.

Wasn't just her though.
Here's a list of the MPs that put their name to the letter sent to the Premier League to pressurise them following their initial rejection of the Saudi take over.

Sunderland, Durham, and Jarrow MPs amongst them.
Would be nice if it bit them on the arse come polling day.

Ian Mearns (Labour – Gateshead)

Kate Osbourne (Labour – Jarrow)

Chi Onwurah (Labour – Newcastle Central)

Sharon Hodgson (Labour – Washington and Sunderland West)

Ian Levy (Conservative – Blyth Valley)

Alex Cunningham (Labour – Stockton North)

Emma Lewell-Buck (Labour – South Shields)

Catherine McKinnel (Labour – Newcastle upon Tyne North)

Liz Twist (Labour – Blaydon)

Richard Holden (Conservative – North West Durham)

Ian Lavery (Labour – Wansbeck)

Mary Kelly (Labour – City of Durham)
Be interesting to see how the Labour MPs vote on arms trade with Saudis given the party stance

Presumably your mentally just transposing Man City's set up to Newcastle. Is there any evidence that that is going to be their approach? Have they talked about their plans? Genuine question.

We're clearly setting our club up very differently from what they will become, an approach I favour and would always have given the choice. We're going to be able to offer something they won't be and that is pathway. There's already a clear change in mentality in younger players in big team Academies. We've only just set off down this path and we've already been taking prospects from Spurs and Leeds, once the model is fully operational it will be a massive feather in our cap and we'll continue to be able to attract top coaches and top talent regardless of how much the Mags' fortunes
From what I’d seen I thought they were gonna split investment in the first 4 years so it was gonna be 50 mill into playing squad and 50 mill into infrastructure. I don’t think they’ll be near what Man City have done with their set up. God knows where that’s came from. People kept mentioning them in reply to me and I’ve never mentioned them once

I just see trouble down the line for us in terms of recruiting and retaining young players from the region. To be honest I’m massively negative about us anyways with Donald & Methven as shareholders into the club. I don’t even watch the games when we’re not at home & only go to home games to take my Dad as he likes to go and we’ve had season tickets since the early 2000s. All I’m gonna say on this thread anyways. I’m more negative about us and what we’ve lost compared to positive about the mags. Just done with Donald and Methven turning up to the games I think!
