the point is if those companies didn't oppose them, why would other multi national companies have the issue. stop drinking starbucks, stop going on social media. it's still saudi money going into companies, people who have an issue can't just slander one deal without the rest.

To repeat the earlier point: Those are passive investments in publicly traded companies with the sole intent of making a profit.

This is a group taking a controlling, and leading stake in a 100+ year old institution rooted in a particular community with the intent of whitewashing their record of human rights violations by handing out sweeties.

Last year it was reported they would invest 250m into the club over five years.

Whilst undoubtedly more than Ashley, it’s not a massive amount these days.

They’ll get their wish of being a stable premier league club with some ambition, but not much more. Unless they get some really good people running the club, then it could be different.
It's just going to make it all the more sweeter when we play them again and beat them. Imagine the pressure they will be under if we actually win a cup as well 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Time will tell. Personally I think IF the numbers are correct about amount of wealth (10 / 12 times the wealth of city) then purely and simply over a period of a few years it will count in the end. They may do an Everton for a few years but it will pay off eventually
That $500B is the Kingdoms sovereign fund wealth, accumulated since 1970. Its purpose is to increase in value not to piss money away.

I don't care what anyone says, at least 90% of Sunderland fans would welcome a takeover involving PIF. To deny that is insane.

I don’t think many are denying that. Football sold its soul years ago. The Mags takeover is just lowering it further into the gutter.
I wouldn’t expect any Mags to stop supporting them because of this.
It’s the needy and hypocritical way they’ve gone about it all which shows them up for the pitiful sacks of shit that we already knew they were.

Everyone is loaded in the prem now, city, Man U, Liverpool, even villa and Everton.

Players don’t look coming here unless they have to get paid mega bucks. Success is not guaranteed.

Just had the misfortune of watching Sky sports news.

‘Some of the most ambitious owners in world football’.

How do they know this like?

Its funny how the mags have banged on about the corruption premier league. Yet I've been reading the premier league are going to accept pif are separate from the saudi state to allow the deal to happen.

That bin salman is literally listed as chairman on the pif website.

At the end of tbe day money always talks.
Agree with you, this has always been about money. That's what the PL sadly, is focussed on.

What is Ashley’s “net spend” at the mags then?

he’s sold it for £300m

what did he buy it for and roughly how much did he put in / take out during his tenure?

probably very difficult to calculate like but it’s interesting since the mags seem so obsessed with net spend and see him as such an evil figure…
