Batters not Batsmen


Makes sense. Rather than have to review and publish two sets of laws, now they only have to do it once.
Are they on a wordcount like?

They could simply write all new laws with batsman/batter.

Unless there’s a shortage of forward slashes due to Brexit?
 
The scoreboard at Bristol County Ground says ‘batsman’. They should be order to forfeit the game for such a flagrant breach of the laws of cricket

Simplification, innit? Batter takes up less room than Batter/Battsman/Batswoman/Batsperson. I reckon battsman is featured in the laws a canny few times. Surely it’s easier to read if you just write batter.
 
Who do we reckon is slipping up on Sky first? I would have said Holding had he not retired. I'll go with Rob Key instead
