I've lead a colourful life and done much not to be proud of but I can safely say I have never chanted in support of sex offenders or "F*ck the UVF" at British / Protestant playersI'm pleased i didn't do anything so stupid when I was a pissed up young un......
Definitely nothing weird about pedantically defending Adam Johnson by insisting that he was in fact a different type of criminal sexual predator either, like.
daft singing?Nowt wrong with bit of daft singing at an away game, especially when you’re winning. If you’re offended by it, I assume you can either confront those individuals who are doing it, (rather than posting snidy anonymous comments on a message board), or, simply don’t put yourself in the arena to be embarrassed/offended by fellow supporters. If neither of them hit the mark you could always watch the match at home with the volume off, unless of course you do something there to offend yourself, then that’s a problem that I can’t solve.
I heard the IRA chant once sung by a tiny portion of our crowd, this was accompanied by supporters booing the chantNo surprise.
The Wyke craic is bad. I have no idea why we are so obsessed with abusing ex players. It’s pathetic.
IRA is standard shite. Kids who weren’t even born before the Good Friday agreement singing about shite they have no knowledge of. It’s like the ten german bombers crack when England play.
And of course the booing of the knee. It’s been covered over and over again on here but until the booing stops it’ll be a stain on the club.
Aye, absolutely nothing weird about wanting to do this at all. Completely normal and healthy thing to want to be pedantic about. As I already pointed out, nobody's defending Adam Johnson, they're correcting incorrect terminology. Calling him a paedophile is no more true than calling him a burglar, a murderer or a goldfish.
Aye, absolutely nothing weird about wanting to do this at all. Completely normal and healthy thing to want to be pedantic about.
If the moronic behaviour of a group of pissed up idiots is likely to cause embarassment, then I would suggest football is not the sport for you.
Or he can continue to go and speak out against the small minded minority who bring shame on our decent support by singing what he's referred to.If it offends you that much then don't go to the matches. Every club has small minded individuals, nothing you say or do will change that unfortunately.
these days they just lock you up for being a Sunderland player...Aye, absolutely nothing weird about wanting to do this at all. Completely normal and healthy thing to want to be pedantic about.
nopeThe time is coming when all chanting and banter will be banned.
"Kumbaya my Lord" will be compulsory whilst holding hands with opposing fans.
First match I've been able to get to since March 2019. Absolutely loved it. I can't remember the last time I saw us win in person, and win so convincingly.
However, a contingent of our traveling fans were nothing short of embarrassing with their choice of chants.
The occasional "Fuck the IRA" chant was utterly ridiculous considering
1) James McClean wasn't even playing he wasn't even on the bench
2) 1996 was the last action of the IRA in this country. most of the idiots chanting this probably weren't even born then, and if they were they should know better.
3) Get the fuck over it. He hasn't played for us for years
The even more ludicrous chant was
"Sunderland boys were on a bender. Charlie Wyke is a sex offender".
Let's break that down shall we?
Sunderland boys on a bender sounds more like a homoerotic gangbang rather than a night on the booze, but of course not many things conveniently rhyme with sex offender and I doubt the inventor of the chant could manage to rhyme nonce.
Charlie Wyke is a sex offender - Wow. I mean, really? The bloke scored an absolute hat-full last season (shame he only managed 9 in the previous 2 seasons). An opportunity came up for him to sign a 3 year deal and he took it.
He followed the money. Like many of us would. You get next to nowt for loyalty these days. We need to stop being so f***ing precious about things.
Wyke didn't even play last night so what was the point?
We had an actual sex offender playing for Sunderland. A real one. A paedophile. Why do some of our lot think it's fine to throw that kind of slur around at anyone else? Particularly players who didn't leave on bad terms, they just left.
A great game with some excellent football from us, tainted by some of our lot who are frankly making themselves look as thick as a submarine door. I'd like to think that's not the case. We're better than this. Aren't we?
I won't even bother mentioning the morons who boo'd the taking the knee (for all of 3 seconds of it). I suspect if there's a venn diagram of the people who did that and the idiotic chants it would be a perfect circle.
shut upso after a cracking win last neet your first thought this morning was to post this drivel, did you go to football in the 80's or 90's you would of been crying yourself to sleep ya wet wipe
p.s. CONTEXT get it
