ECB need to be careful what they say though, they were more than happy to put cash ahead of test matches when they shoved the final two tests into mid-September to accommodate the 100.

they’ve been trying to get this moved all summer

people will say well England did this is South Africa, and I criticised England for pulling out, particularly Morgan, but it was a different world back then with nobody vaccinated.

India have been out and about even in Manchester, it’s not like they’ve been in their hotel rooms, they’ve been mingling with no concerns about covid

they didn’t wanna play this test match

they forfeited it

people might say it’s a hollow victory, it is, but there’s no way you can say india won that Series

like their players, they feel they can do what they want, ECB needs to show some balls and stand up to them here

The official line is it was a joint decision of the BCCI and ECB, and they're trying to reschedule it. If they don't manage to reschedule it, I presume India win the series 2-1.

So three series defeats on the spin for Onslow and Root.💩

Good point.

The less said about the Hundred the better, but I will say that I didn't think it was much different to the T20 Blast. None of the superstars you associate with Big Bash or IPL

India players were already on the plane after the oval like

mentslly gone, I don’t think they wanted to play this and if they’d been forced to wouldn’t mentally have been good enough

the plane leaves for the IPL day after the test match and they want to be on it

the big bash has no superstars like

part of the problem is people thinking we needed something like the big bash, we already had something better, the standard over there is terrible

What are they going to do for five days then I wonder. If they’re concerned about catching Covid and missing the IPL surely they will be staying in their rooms...
