New Music Releases Thread

New album from Nils Frahm out today, a collaboration with FS Blumm.

i listened this morning.
it’s got a really dubby feel to it. I quite enjoyed it
Arguably the finest Hip Hop artist we have in our country has just released an absolutely tremendous album.

Song's been out for a little while but how about that for an album intro? She is so so so good.

one of the most talented young people in the country. She can do the lot. Sing, Rap, write, act.
She’s great

Played it on the way to work this morning, superb. Great choice of beats too.

Just taking a moment to acknowledge all the regulars on here, past and present. We’ve come 5 hours, with a tropical storm keeping us company over our shoulder, to see Kristen Hersh play what is likely to be 20 mins in a bookshop. The missus made reference to you lot (and I think Arkle by name) and how the nonsense of us doing this encapsulates what we’re willing to do for music. We clearly don’t need encouragement but let’s keep this (best) thread going. Thanks all - you play a hugely important part in my life with recommendations and chat whether you know it or not 👍

Class that, enjoy the gig!

Bloody hell, I don't intend to influence anyone just guide them. I'm both massively touched by that and amazed at your dedication to the gig going cause. Music is the thnig that bonds us. Also, @James started this thread, he's the vegan to blame for over 15000 posts.

Their best since BNW
100% agree, this band blow me away just when you think they cant top things they do, haters will always hate, fans of `80`s Maiden will always wish they would write another 10 Troopers or Number of the beasts - they aint that band no more they are so much better & ive been a fan since seeing them with Paul Di`Anno in `79 & a shitload more times since, this new album is stunning.

Incidentally, hasten to add it was in a positive way - she’s as musically obsessed as we all are. We enable each other 😀 She wasn’t using us as a negative study!

im not ashamed to say that @Arkle weekly round up post is the best post on undoubtedly the best thread !

I have mate! I’ll PM you
Sorry mate the signal was atrocious yesterday so only saw this when I was on the bloody bus back to the station. :(

Cracking day though, mind I definitely overdid it on the cans. I was hammered around the time Crack Cloud came on (who were excellent). Ended up bouncing around the tent for Daniel Avery's set and then caught the end of Self Esteem who were outstanding.

Headed back to the Shacklewell Arms afterwards as well for the Crack Cloud gig but sacked it off when I was told they wouldn't be on until 1am at the earliest. Fuck that, I was way too gone to last another couple of hours.

Massive thank you to @chunkylover53 for sorting me a ticket. Great bloke.

Yep, signal was gash all day long! I caught your first post about 4 hours too late

That was the best London day festival I’ve been to in years. Way better than All Points East last weekend. Crack Cloud were brilliant, probably my pick of the day outside of Yard Act. I would say that though. All it lacked was a bigger main stage finale. I love Shame to bits but they don’t have enough headline material in the bank yet. That row of brewers was dangerous, mind. Too many options to sample.

Jumped straight in an hour long taxi home, buzzing all the way back to Essex. Great day.

I love her. Lucky to have a homegrown artist of her calibre making such consistently high end music, and at a prolific rate. At 27, she’s only just getting started.

Class wasn't it, proper enjoyed it. Weather was perfect as well which helped. The brewers market was a nice surprise, though they were having terrible network connection issues for payments earlier in the day, especially Brew By Numbers. I actually ended up with a free beer from there as they couldn't get the machine to work. Canny for me, though I did end up missing the first ten minutes of Porridge Radio because of it.

My only gripe would be that the Bad Vibes stage was a bit close to the Moth Club tent and the noise from there was very noticeable at times. Not much you can about that though and it wasn't that bad.

Agree on Shame. I couldn't be arsed with them at that point and sorted just walked around a bit seeing what else was going on. Hopefully next year they sort a proper headliner to really cap the event.

Yeah there was quite a bit of bleed on those two stages. I only watched about 5 mins of The Murder Capital in Moth Club but you could hear Crack Cloud loud and proud from the opposite end of the tent. Believe their set was cut short too. Not happy bunnies.

How were Porridge Radio? You got any other gigs lined up?

Getting announced on Tuesday as it happens! I won’t spoil the surprise but this was quite a funny bit of marketing tease sent out to everyone who’s ever bought a 7”

Porridge Radio suffered a bit from the sound bleed too. They were good though, enjoyed it.

Next up is Krush Puppies on Wednesday at Peckham Audio, then I've booked Tina at Moth Club in a few weeks time, For Those I Love at the Courtyard Theatre and The Cool Greenhouse at the Shacklewell Arms.

Not many really, but I've got back into the gig booking mindset now, realised I was miles out of touch and still in pandemic mode. Hoping to pick up a ticket for Yard Act at the Lexington at the end of the month too, that one flew under my radar.

Ill keep an ear out for Yard Act spares, if we get any drop outs on our list nearer the time im sure you can have one of those. There’s only a couple left for Village Underground in Feb and we’re putting the big room at Earth on sale next week I believe. Mad how fast things are moving considering they didn’t exist pre pandemic.

For Those I Love at Courtyard totally passed me by somehow - he’s doing three nights in a row too
