To be fair to them their defence is absolutely shite! I'm amazed they haven't strengthened it at all. Bizarre

....long may it continue
Absolutely mate. As ive said previously I’d like to see them firmly planted bottom four or five for the rest of the season, circling the drain, getting pummeled regularly but just doing enough to keep bacon brains in a job. Teach the self entitled buggers a lesson.

Turning on each other love to see it. Anyone seen Lord of the Flies?

Your squad was decent second half the season with Willock in the team and you’ve invested a lot of money into signing him. Also got Wilson & ASM back fit.
Aye but they didn’t get Mbappe and Ronnie !!
Keegan and Robson

Typical 1992er comment
Robson 🙄 on the slippery slide as soon as he lost to the team they are not obsessed with but wreck their own city when they lose to them 😂

I don't disagree at all. And thats down to poor ownership and management surely. Same as the Joelinton signing, a complete lack of due diligence.
That signing was mad like and to think that he's your record signing. Was that done more to appease the supporters? It was around that time that a lot of your supporters were making a lot of noise about 'net spend' then the Almiron and Joelinton signings weren't too long following that for a joint fee of roughly £60m wasn't it?

I certainly see the similarities between us now and where you were then as a club. Yes you have the happiness when you survive another year, but to what purpose? To do it all again next season. We could very easily be meeting again next season.
Got to be honest I always just hoped to survive and have a run in the cup. That Burnley loss was a killer. Used to really annoy me when we’d play weakened teams and lose. I remember losing down at Pompey in the 4th round of the FA cup when they were bottom of the prem. They ended up in the final

Exactly this.

Before Keegan got them to the Premier League, they’d spent 9 out of 15 years in division 2. No reason why that couldn’t happen again.

Attendances went from 16k in 1991 to 50k in 2001. Whatever they might claim, the vast majority of them didn’t start going until Keegan and Robson. They think they should be near the top all the time, but they weren’t ever really that type of club.

The type of club they’ve been under Ashley is probably slightly better than they usually are, but the legions of 92ers just can’t or don’t want to see it.

It was yeah, trust us to spend 40 million on that shit. I don't think Ashley has ever really felt it important to appease supporters as such, it's a bit of a mystery that one. I always saw it as a bit of two fingers up to Benitez as he never wanted Joelinton and had said he was nowhere near worth that outlay. Then he leaves, Bruce in, next day record transfer. Whatever the motivation it has been a truly horrendous bit of business. He's not even a Championship player in my view and we will eventually take a huge hit on him.

Would take a cup and relegation every time like. Brentford away last season when we limped out in a QF to their reserves pathetically really hurt me like, I can't deny that at all. It angered me and was the final nail for me and Bruce although I was never behind him really anyway. Obviously I hope we survive but it is draining as a fan and builds apathy like I can't really recall. It is what it is, someone else will be along at some point and you go again. As a spectacle and for enjoyment the Championship seasons were better then where we are now.

The average was 18k when Keegan took over. Sunderland who were roughly just above us was 16k despite playing the derby it was the best in the division despite being bottom 6 all season. Mind Sunderland fans come out the woodwork in their droves that season in the last few months semi final and cup final tickets 😂😂😂😂

It irks me to think that some of my taxes were obviously wasted on trying to educate this cretin.

They weren’t free mate. Came out of Beloved uncle Mikes pocket so the less fortunate could go to the match. And yet they hate his guts. Ungrateful buggers. The things that man has done for them and their “reejun” one of the great philanthropists is jolly old uncle Mike.

You mean the season you won the league, and we finished 1 point above the relegation zone?
