You said other teams improved while you stood still.
Well 11 teams are weaker so you should have a good season then.(using mag logic of course)
I suppose we will know after 38 games, and hopefully we have enough to survive again, but the omens aren't good.

I don't disagree at all. And thats down to poor ownership and management surely. Same as the Joelinton signing, a complete lack of due diligence.
Management yes, but it's not the owners job to tell Recruitment/Management what players they need, its the other way round. Brucey will have known the budget limitations and has opted to spaff it on one player. Look at the clubs around you, and what they've brought in on frees and minimal outlay. I used those 4 because they weren't exactly cheap, and it covers every area of the pitch. You're all so angry at Ashley not spending that you're completely sidestepping the fact that the money that was available has been used very, very poorly

We are one of those woeful teams and will be there or there abouts. Of course spending money is no guarantee but it's clear we are really weak this season, especially once an injury or two kicks in. Ashley is taking a massive gamble this season again.

Agree about the big 6 like. Sooner they fuck off the better.

But I'm not arsed about those teams, I'm worried about the one I support.
Obviously we all hope you go down - it will be fantastic watching the melt down from the fans!

But currently you are fifth favourites with the bookies. Here's hoping but if I was a betting man I'd put a tenner on at 8/15 rather than a tenner at 11/8 to go down.

However, I really do not think I have seen a weaker Premier League than this season. All bar a select few sides currently run the risk of key injuries sending them down.

But Ashley puts in place the staff that do the recruitment? And he was directly involved in the Joelinton deal. And I won't defend Bruce in terms of his managerial limitations, he's shit.

Wouldn't expect anything less mate, of course you want us to go down haha. We have a poor squad with a poor manager playing a poor system that isn't working. Time will tell, but if you keep circling the drain, eventually you will sink. So if its not this season, its next or one after.

Our squad is incredibly weak, especially with players being shoe horned into the wrong positions. Ritchie and Murphy are very poor as wing backs, our defenders look finished and we just let our best one go. ASM and Wilson will not stay fit all season in all likelihood, in fact ASM looked ruined after 60 minutes last weekend. Willock is a good player and I'm glad he signed but he's unlikely to score in the way he did last season. However, re signing him (whilst a few have left) at best leaves us standing still. We were flirting with relegation almost all of last season until last 5 games and have not improved.

It's perfectly reasonable in them circumstances to feel like we may be in bother this season. Especially with such a poor manager at the helm.
What would you say would have been a reasonable amount to have spent in this window?
I’ve absolutely no idea how much profit you have made recently so would be interesting to know what you deem reasonable 🤷‍♂️

The question, as last season, is 'are there 3 worse teams than Newcastle'.
Remember, for 33 games last season, the answer was no.
Let's see this time.

Mags now boasting about going to "at least one game a season"?

..and boasting about it on an safc messageboard! Seen it all now
Do you think that account could possibly be a windup, or bait for that Deluded RTG twitter maybe?

Always the risk when your loan is your best player. We had it for years where we had to spend to bring the team back to where we were previous year. I take your points on Bruce and the squad and aye I’d be concerned too

Nope, it's a terrible transfer window, but that's due to spunking your entire budget on 1 player. For that amount you could have got Junior Firpo, Josh Sargent, Jeremy Sarmiento and Kjell Scherpen who all went to your rivals. You're moaning you're not getting enough money, but the truth is its being spent poorly
Well they wanted pillock and generous uncle Mick bought him for them. Not sure why they are kicking up a fuss. Never happy that lot.

True, he put his faith in people he thought could do the job, and so far you're still in the Premier league so he hasn't been proven completely wrong. I think this season might be it for you though (fingers crossed it is😉)

Schools are back tomorrow mate. Do they still teach kids spelling, grammar, and composition in Newcastle?
Here’s Dave looking happier.

I would simplify it in terms of an amount but we needed lots of players in different areas of the pitch. Willock got us back to where we are, we play with wing backs despite only having one natural one on each side, need anther CB and proper competition up front as Wilson will be injured and Gayle is a champ player.

Whether that was done with loans free or money signings who can say but we are short of quality we're it matters. We also let Longstaff go leaving us even shorter in the middle of the park.

I certainly see the similarities between us now and where you were then as a club. Yes you have the happiness when you survive another year, but to what purpose? To do it all again next season. We could very easily be meeting again next season.
