A brilliant owner no way. Has not put a penny into the football side. Paid the mortgage and then charged a interest rate that never sees it paid off. Look at the facts man. Yous hated short but he pumped money in and even dropped the purchase fee when he sold. Oh aye he even wrote debt off bs fair lads and lasses

Well I'm not sure that sort of offer will come in again and that's exactly why he's dragging it out despite it being clear the deal is dead as a dodo. However, it is in his interests to keep us in the PL, and he has lost that gamble a cpl of times and may very well again. It may be that he's okay with that as we have came straight back up twice but in terms of his asking price it's gone the minute we go down.

He knows what he is doing business wise, not so sure he does from a footballing perspective, which as a fan is what we are more interested in ultimately.

I think he likely does now to be honest. Just for a really high price, which is of course his right as owner.

That's proper worst case scenario. How many clubs have gone into administration and survived? How many have been run poorly for ages and still survived. This isn't a dig, but look at Sunderland. Short threw all kinds of cash at you but got it wrong, you got relegated because of bad appointments, bad transfers and bad players, but mostly because you had a bad owner. Then the chuckle brothers come in and fuck up the already fucked up thing. But you're still here aren't you?

Leeds had worse financial planning than we did in the 90s and paid for it with decades outside the top flight, but look at them now. Leicester went into administration. Bournemouth x2, Palace x2, Boro, Portsmouth x3, Hull, there's loads of clubs who've been on their arse and survived. It's a stretch to say that Ashley 'saved' us, it's also a stretch to say we're a stable PL club when we've been relegated twice under his watch and been in relegation fights for the majority of seasons.

I am both a nice bloke and a bit weird.

I'm not. I'm sure he's a very successful businessman in the retail world, but he could have saved a lot of money and hassle if he'd just given the running of the club to a competent director instead of the teaboy.

Short is clearly a successful businessman, and he did terribly as a football club owner.

Imagine if Ashley had got up to the shenanigans of the Hall and Shepherd families? Because they were local little ever got said by their fans or the many NUFC sycophants in the local media who showed their true colours and ethics with regard to the recent Saudi interest.

It's not his club any more than Sunderland was shorts. The hundreds of millions that NUFC have rec'd from the Premier League, from other clubs=, from Sponsors isn't Mike Ashley's millions, it belongs to the club.

Owners are just custodians and you're wrong if you think otherwise.
