Your first boots?

Touchline (Co-op own make) were first new ones. Before that it was a pair similar to the ankle high ones, but with leather bars on the soles rather than studs.

Hand-me-downs.
Moulded rubber sole - they were "Jimmy Greaves Junior".
I thought they were brilliant:lol:

1st brand new pair though was from Willie Watson's in the Arcade - they were Adidas "Santiago" = screw-in studs:cool:👍

Mine were made by Stuburt, got them in 1977 when I made in onto the junior school team. I think they just do golf gear now but I was told some of the ‘66 World Cup winning team wore them. Good enough for them etc……

No idea about my first boots, but the last and best were when I was playing rugby, a pair of Adidas Penarol. Very light and very comfortable, with aluminium studs. I kept them for about 25 years.

What were the first football boots you had?

Stylo George Best for me. Made of rubber, moulded soles when my mates had screw ins but I loved them.
Heavy leather with a thick strong sole and an almost military toecap. Also with long, trailing mud stained laces.

Really handy to thwack a casey that also had long, trailing mud stained laces.

That's how it was in 1948.

Quasar (?). Gary Lineker signature printed on the side.
Bryan robson sondico shin pads

Always wanted these.... or even better adidas world cups with tounge over the laces like Phil gray. Would have been ruined after 10 mins in the mud in the Russell Foster league
Ironically I wanted the Quasar ones. Had the Sondico ones too.
Had Copa Mundials later, but never the World Cup screw studs

Never had any football boots as I was into athletics. Had some Nike Pegasus and elite classics for road running and some blue and orange Adidas spikes for track.
