i actually like the look of this XI
Stokes has to come back in
Could see Buttler stepping out and Bairstow getting the gloves sooner or later

He isn’t terrible but he’s prone to errors and periods in games in the field that are just daft.

like most captains then? Think he’s ok

I agree bairstow at 7 and pretty sure he will be

they’ll want Pope back in sooner or later

I think the fact we could easy because 2-0 up without our best player and a host of bowlers is really impressive

we’ve shown a lot of fight
He literally always does. Win or lose.

Fair enough he can be a bit Over the top on the pitch ( competitive) but hes always respectful after, win or lose

 No he doesn’t

did you not watch the series in India?

He is ok, and is growing into the role all the time and wins & performances like this help enormously, but it’s fair to say he’s had and is still having moments in the field that aren’t great, to say the least.

Spoke very well there I thought and usually does, fronted up excellently after Lords also.

Superb batsman as well of course.

Pope has a lot to do to get back in here for me. Would rather see Livingstone get a chance.

You fail to mention that Root has lost almost twice as many tests than Vaughan. Selective stats selection from a Joe Root fanboy I suspect.
And Vaughan had a far superior team. Arguably the best we have had in a generation but indisputably better than the current one.
