you are reading it wrong. Rafa didnt want to commit to the signing until his own position was resolved, even though he had already sorted out his China deal. Nowhere does it say thst Rafa didnt want the player, but it does show he was playing Newcastle.

If there’s 45,000 then that’s 45,000 too many. I used to travel up to Newcastle (about 150 miles or so) quite often to watch the lads but not anymore. I refuse to put my money into that club with absolutely no return on it.
Yes it’s a great day out watching footy at a stadium like ours but what is the point seriously? The club is rotting from the inside out, absolutely no investment in players and zero ambition to ever win."
