New Music Releases Thread

Saturday night is loaded. Gruff Rhys followed by Mogwai on the main stage, LUMP then Black Midi then Jose Gonzalez on the second stage and Pictish Trail and Hen Ogledd on the third stage. Do Nothing on the Rising stage (new bands) also.

Enjoy Arkle, especially Do Nothing as my local lads.

I had my tickets but my whole group all wanted to defer tickets, much to my annoyance. It’s a good lineup and I’d be straight at the front for Thundercat if it were up to me.

Have fun Arkle

Try and have a look at Yard Act if you can. Think they’re on tonight.

As I'm off to Green Man in the morning, the week's releases are coming a bit early. We have new albums from Badge Epoch, Between The Buried And Me, David Duchovny, Deafheaven, Debbie Gibson, James, McMurtry, Kool & the Gang, Lorde, Maggie Rose, Martha Wainwright, Palmistry, Shannon and the Clams, Sturgill Simpson, Villagers, Wanda Jackson, Wolves in the Thrown Room, Jake Bugg, the compilation Scared to Get Happy: A Story Of Indie Pop 80-89, Orla Gartland, Anderson East, BNNY, Azure Ray, Alabama 3, Tropical Fuck Storm and Nathan Salsburg.

There's a proper bonanza to be getting on with there. I'll be playing catch up from Monday afternoon onward.
Quite a lot there for me. I’m especially excited for David Duchovny, but I’ll also check out Sturgill Simpson, Azure Ray and Teopical Fuck Storm.

There's a new Vistas album out, also. Is there another James album out or is that James McMurtry? ;)

What's Scared to get Happy? Is it a new version? We have a copy of that from several years ago, so curious what this release is. ta

Slightly unfortunate, but Sister Ray is advertising Orla Gartland as a new Martin Gore album.

Just back from Green Man. It was good to be back at a festival. My highights were, in no particular order, Mogwai, Gruff Rhys, Thundercat and Crack Cloud. Lots of other very good things though.

Missed a lot of Thursday getting on site and then getting the tent up. Covid stuff was interesting. Every adult needed either to be double vaccinated or have had a negative lateral flow test in the previous 48 hours. Supposedly, they were going to check this if you went off site and came back but we didn't see any evidence of this.

Welcome back. Saw some pics from Mogwai and TFC and was feeling jealous! We had similar at Wilco/Sleater-Kinney on Saturday - had to show proof of vaccination or negative test in previous 48 hours. Friday at Laura Jane Grace there was no proof of vax but masks were obligatory.

New music - I think there was also a Shaun Ryder solo album out on Friday? I'm behind on Friday's stuff as I got a bunch of delayed vinyl delivered.

There was bugger all Covid prevention measures at the Inhaler gig that I attended last week and now all of their gigs this week are cancelled due to Covid related issues.
