Northern trains

alright, millions in profit then. either way, that money should be reinvested into the network, not siphoned off to an off-shore tax haven in the caymen islands.
You’re making shit up. Do a bit of research into the trains industry in the U.K. Arriva, Stagecoach, Virgin and Keolis have all handed the keys back for franchises in the last three years because it’s nigh on impossible to operate services in the race to the bottom created within the industry.

Do even a small amount of research.

but its 2021, its not the 70s anymore. give it a chance in the modern world. we either have it privatised, ran for the maximum amount of profit for shareholders as possible....or......nationalise it and put those profits back into network. everyone agrees its utter shite, so why not give another system a try? whats the worst that can happen?

aren't we supposed to be trying, as a nation, to reduce our carbon emissions? improve public transport to the levels we see on the continent, and it would reduce the amount of cars on the road

so get to the root of the problem and get the scummy bastard Tories out. and instantly improve the lives of the working people of the country. its not a complicated equation
As far as I can gather unless summat has changed, Northern trains are government run. It’s the same outfit in charge as took over LNER. We can wait for a change of government but who is to say it will make any difference? And this situation needs to change now, not at some undefined point in the future. Graeme morris is on the transport select committee but he’s only one man. Maybe if all these disgruntled passengers contacted him he might be able to present a stronger case.
