I'm not saying we lost tonight because we looked lightweight though. Its poor finishing that cost us tonight. Burton aren't a physical side by league 1 standard so that side wouldn't be a factor against such teams so much. The likes of gillingham on the other hand..

The reality is with us playing more football now we may pass it around such teams. But I do have my reservations against the more physical teams in the league.
I would imagine Wimbledon will be physical it’s in the DNA of the Crazy gang.

Maybe it's just the mood I'm in. I hope so. But I don't share the general feeling of satisfaction with that performance.
Johnson is right. Doubtless we would have won that game on 85% of hypothetical occasions. But our final ball was poor, again, and the set pieces were dire, in the main. We also achieved relatively little when playing 'through the lines'. The high press was also non-existent (but that may have been intentional).
I like the spirit of this side and what it's trying to achieve. I think we'll beat Wimbledon on Saturday. But I think we fell short against Burton.

You sound hard to please. Luck was the difference tonight, and nothing more.

They had one shot on target and it was very lucky how it fell to him. Great finish mind.

We'll play worse and win games this season

We played more direct due to their high line which should have paid dividends.

Where were we unlucky? Playing well and losing isn’t always down to bad luck.I’m happy with the overall performance and with our play in the two previous games so long May it continue.

Sick as fuck this morning like

Really enjoyed how we played for 90% of the game. It's difficult to have any complaints apart from the poor finishing.

Huge amount of positives and we win that game (or any other in the division for that matter) 9 times out of 10 if we play like that.

Just feels like we've been kicked in the bollocks to come away with nothing, especially with the equaliser ruled out at the end.

Presuming we beat AFC Wimbledon it's still been an excellent start to the season, but the 4 day wait after that sucker punch last night feels like 4 weeks!

I just hope we take our frustration out on them on Saturday because if we come out of the traps like we did last night there is a battering on the cards.

Disappointing to lose a game we could have won convincingly, there are some very encouraging signs from this team and how we appear commited to playing football, great to see our own lads involved, Neil and Embleton in particular look assured, yes they will drift in and out, but they have loads to offer and will improve.

the squad being assembled is an interesting one, and we will particularly effective if we have the balls to out pass sides but we must be clinical, our midfield lads need to be smart around Stewart, he will make opportunities for others.

Looking forward to seeing the new lads involved for longer and who else comes in, this is the most hopeful I have been for several seasons that we are finally going about things in a half decent way, we are in with a chance now. we will be a very tidy outfit this time.

Finally well done Burton, they do what they do well and never quit.

I guess it almost did, on a couple of occasions. But we fell short, overall.
Yeah, good decision from the lino, unfortunately.
I've changed my mind on that. At first glance, Flanners looks hugely on, but it looks like he was off at the precise point of delivery. It was a matter of tenths of seconds.

They rode their luck on Saturday beating Ipswich as well.

Ultimately if we play like that then more often than not we'll be winning the game. We'll certainly play a lot worse and win this season.
