Michael Gough is a f*cking cock like. The more I see/hear of him the more that becomes apparent. Why not just complete the over FFS?

Also, why the fuck pick Wood if you aren’t going to bowl him inside the first two hours of play?

Sure there's another thread for this, but I think the 16.4 is here to stay and I actually think its been a ridiculous success on its own terms. All the evidence suggests that it really is bringing a different type of audience to the game.

I was very critical of it, hated the concept, still hate the ludicrous ten-ball overs. But the writing is on the wall for the Blast. It's actually f***ing working, much though I hate it.

Of course the calendar is still absurd and the charge that it has fundamentally weakened the England team is undeniable. Why they can't rationalise the season so there are clear white ball and red ball phases - and not give the red ball phases the shitty bits of the calender either - I have no idea. I just don't get it. Tests should be on at the same time as the CC (i.e. summer) and you can have the white ball bits at the end of the season, like they are for England. To me that point stands whether it is the 16.4 or the Blast, or whatever.

For some reason they like to use him with a dead ball when nothing else is happening. essentially he is fodder in home tests

Same with Archer, he was averaging like 20 when he had the new ball in the Ashes and the Anderson/Broad come back to hog it and he goes over 30s.

Not f***ing rocket science.

It also makes them more likely to injure themselves. We don't understand pace bowling at all, we really don't.

Poor all round after the opening spell. Curran bowling absolute pies and getting carted all over the place. And then even after an over which goes for 16 Wood can’t get on for a bowl. Shocking.

There is, but this was analysis of the test team on the morning of the test on the test match thread. It's undoubtedly had a negative effect on the test team, the team which props up the entire game. Already. :lol:

Not sure how you can say it's been a success. We've seen more marketing budget thrown at it than (I read) the last 20 years of domestic cricket combined. That's an insane levels of investment. Stupid. And for what? The general consensus that it's just T20 with 5 ball overs.

So more of the same, excluding half the country, for 20 times the price. Absolutely f***ing ridiculous.

Success will be judged in a few years. If this competition is still running and Durham CC is back in the minor counties, then it's been a success.

Anyway, shit morning for England.
