The Hundred - Free tickets

Just curious but what time did the game actually finish last night? And how long did it take to get back into Leeds city centre?

If you jump on the train at Burley Park, you can be back in Leeds within 30 mins from leaving the ground.

Alternatively, it's only about £8 in a taxi from outside the ground and that's a 10 minute ride.

Thanks! Been contemplating doing the game against Birmingham and contemplating wether to drive or use transport.

I'm sure the intention isn't to destroy County cricket, rather grow the game. But I think concerns about the impact on the county teams is perfectly justified.
I'm absolutely certain it is, it's the ECB's dream to control domestic cricket. It's already started with Pietersen, more will follow. Drip, drip, drip, drip.......

Growing the game is nice, controlling the test venues in this country and all the lovely lovely cash is better. Yum yum, money money money.

You seem more cynical about this than I am about our football club at the moment!

I think they probably feel there is so much potential to grow the popularity of cricket. It doesn't really have too much competition in the summer but the crowds and interest in tbe sport (International team aside) just isnt that great.
Well yeah I agree the concern, guess it’s only natural for posters and supporters of county teams to be nervous the way this is going.

My objection is these same posters have never give the hundred a chance to see how it develops cricket in this country or increase participation or enjoyment of the game,

They have simply written it off and stated quite aggressively they hope it falls flat on its arse before a ball was even bowled.

But you like say I agree the objective is to grow the game, which has to be good?
I have to be honest I'm just not too arsed by the county scene. Its all about the international team for me.

That said I know id feel differently if I did regularly go and watch Durham or Yorkshire and would probably be critical of the competition.

But like you say if it grows the games popularity hopefully everyone gets to benefit that likes cricket in this country. I really do think there is a lot of potential for cricket to grow here.

Parking is shite close to the ground as it's bang in the middle of a big residential area. But if you were set on driving, there's plenty of places to park within a short train or walk away.

If Alan partridge was a cricket commentator
He’s got the vibe of a man who runs a mediocre bar selling overpriced IPA’s and often regales customers on how he was asked to join Kasabian because he went to school with them but choose to go backpacking instead before settling into a cushy job in the City.

No the intention was to stuff Durham, so they only had 8 test match grounds so had a reason to give both Lords and the Oval a team

I love Harry Brook and think he has great potential, but Pietersen is taking it to another level ffs. Mistimes a sweep and it flies into the air... WHAT A SHOTTTT
