West Ham and Spurs man, it's a load of rubbish. The lad is 22 already, he has to do something this season really. I hope he gets a chance but should have been involved sooner. Why didn't he start tonight? What is the point of starting Grigg and O'Brien, they are both shite.

Hawkes is an attacking midfielder and got 20 goals last season would you rather we spunked another couple of million on some 28 yr old from Shrewsbury or something

Why didn't he make a league appearance last season instead of persisting with O'Brien then?

Who said anything about spending £2m on a 28 y/o? You always come back with rubbish like that, no one has suggested that.

Because it was his first season at this level and maybe he wanted to have a look at him and see if he felt he could cope rather than throw him in at the deep end when we chasing promotion, a years a long time when your a young lad

Sunderland being sustainable with cat 1 academy in league 1 is next to impossible imo. Our strategy should be to be smart with signings, but we must aim to get out ASAP.
