My only worry is we seem to get every single decision wrong. Also, that somehow Will Grigg is in a stronger position than the club! Bizarre

Yeah we would like more players but there's still time to get the players we need.

Hope am wrong but this season could be our worst ever finish
 
It all feels as flat as a fart.

New hugely wealthy owner and now we’re being drip fed tales of very little money being spent, sustainability being the watchword and …. these things take time.

Sounds very much like we’re being given not so subliminal messages that we’d better get used to L1 football for a few years yet.

At least first season down you got the impression we had a go at going up.

When mcmenemy took us down to the old third division for the first time in our history Alan Durban was asked about the candidates for the vacant managers job on look north or whatever it doesn't matter who they give it to he said anyone would get Sunderland back up first attempt from that league even his wife could do it he said how times have changed how far we have fallen

Every season in league one so far, we have had the largest wage budget. We provided terrible value for it of course.

I'm not sure that'll be the case this season, which is fine if you buy more intelligently than everyone else over a 2 or 3 year period.

But... we haven't, thus far we have bought a couple of lads on there way down that are injury prone. The probability is that even if we went up, they would need replacing.

Obviously there is time left, but as it stands, it isn't what I was expecting which wasn't massive in my opinion.

It's called not panic buying for the sake of it to increase numbers in the squad. I'm confident that by the end of the transfer window we'll have got some decent players in and have a good squad.

Frankie and Danny said tonight that Tranmere had released 11 players and already brought in 13. That's pretty rash to me and sounds like they've done desperate business rather than look for quality. Would surprise me if they struggle.
 
Can’t understand letting the amount of players go that we did and seemingly being so reluctant to replace them. I’d have definitely kept Maguire and Power and possibly Scowen aswell.
 
I wonder if the intention is not to go up this season, maybe not even next, maybe KLD wants to get his hands on the Donald's and co shares at a cheaper price. Just a thought mind.

Potentially, letting our top 4 goalscorers from last season go (43 goals combined) is a little worrying. Wigan look like they're having a right good go at it, whereas we look to be building a squad which might compete in 2-3 seasons time
 
Peoples expectation levels on here are set too high.

I didn't expect much this window, so I'm not really disappointed.

However... If we sign some players I may move to "DEFCON - Pleasantly Surprised".
 
Jesus this thread is dramatic. Love how anyone who signs for a challenging team is a world beater. Joe piggot is the answer? Fuck me man.
 
Better to not sign anyone than bring in the wrong players. We have gone down the route before and it doesn't work. We do need first team player mind.
