Indeed. But they are handsomely compensated for it. If you work on a rig you don’t get to take your family

don’t get me wrong, I have sympathy, but half of them took the IPL riches
 
Australia's rugby league team have pulled out of November's World Cup which is being held over here.

Wouldn't surprise me.

Are you really reducing it to money? Money doesn't stop you from being lonely as fuck or homesick. Bet the rig-workers wouldn't be there unless it was the only way they could produce for their family. This is only sport. As for the IPL, they have their families out there for that... Reckon many more would pull out if their families couldn't go to that either.

Well. After 16 months working from home.......I could do it
 
It’s always a difficult one this as nobody likes to be away from their families for any length of time, so have sympathy for them to a certain extent.

But at the end of the day they professional well paid sportsman, who will be stopping in top hotels in between games playing golf, relaxing and training.

There is certainly worse gigs, to actually pull out if it happened would be out of order imo,
