The Hundred - Free tickets

Well yeah we are going round in circles.

Can only repeat that I agree and always have that there was and is nothing wrong with T20 as not bigger fan of it than me.

So to make myself clear I agree there was no need to change a winning formula and also agree not much different

However once it has been changed to the hundred and very similar which both agree, I am not suddenly going to dislike it.

I am certainly not wanting something to fall on its face and all that money be wasted.

It’s happening rightly or wrongly and nothing wrong imo with enjoying it, promoting it and getting excited about it and making it fun and entertaining for people watching it.
Wont the Hundred hurt T20 though? Dilutes the sport even more. If casual new fans are being diverted towards the Hundred won't the T20 Blast just seem like a less important afterthought?

This is the number one baffling thing to me, I have no issue with T20, I have enjoyed attending BBL games here in Australia, why not just rebrand or heavily promote the existing T20 Blast?
At least you are working with established clubs, with built in fanbases you can grow, and would be far less divisive.

If the Blast had been given the resources that the Hundred has, Im sure it would have been just as, if not more successful.

Don't mind it me. Obviously it's being over egged by the presenters but that's what they're there for, to advertise and sell a new produce.
The graphics are rank but I don't think they're aimed at a bloke approaching 40, it's clearly set up for the younger generation with the neon colours and almost xbox like heads up display.
In an ideal world it could run alongside current competitions but I can't see how.
I kinda hope it fades away before being pulled and the new followers it brings in continue watching the county games.

Yeah fair enough mate, I agree with that.

My point been now it’s happened and heavily promoted want it to work to increase participation and interest at ground level, not try to look at every perceivable angle to discredit it

To be honest whatever achieves more interest be it the blast or the hundred would be happy.

T20 is absolute guff as well so I don't see why it needs to be the gold standard.

Can't claim to keep track of every score or to see every game, but I've been to a fair few Blast games and Stokes has been a disappointment every time, and can't remember him doing anything special for England in T20s either, though I'm sure there will be occassions where he has done.

Is this just something that happens whenever I watch him, or is he just not that good when it comes to T20s, even if the way he plays in 50 over games suggests he should be excellent?

Don't think stokes should be in England's starting 11 in T20, rarely seems to make a score in it

Yeh, I agree.

20/20 and hundred formats don’t suit him at all.

In my opinion he needs 15/20 balls to settle at the crease before he sets off. He doesn’t have that luxury in these formats.

I’ve only got this year’s season ticket, and today’s televised match as examples. He had one game for Durham where he was excellent from a fielding perspective, but the rest he fell quickly batting.

I guess there’s also the T20 World Cup final if anyone wants to reopen that bowling wound

Then we need a good cricket video game series more than we need The Hundred. Before anyone says anything, Cricket ‘19 is shite.
I had one called Don Bradman cricket. I scored about 50 runs then it turned really hard and miss timed every shot. Wouldn't recommend it
