Now trying to big up a game that's been finished since the first 15 balls...

Let them crack on with it if people want to go and watch that type of cricket then fair enough. The worrying thing for me is watching the match at Edgbaston on the stream and it looked like there was nobody there.
As far as our domestic cricket goes as long as there is test match cricket and international 50 over cricket it will be played at domestic level.
Was it worth taking cricket away from half the country for this?
It’s propaganda that even Kim Jong-Un would blush at.Flintoff talking about the atmosphere booming there, cut to the crowd and it’s a woman yawning![]()

It was a rhetorical question as you know, but it's worth reminding the gonks that are hyping it.It (Test and ODI cricket) being played at domestic level isn’t the concern. It’s HOW MANY counties are left to play it. More than justifiable concerns from county cricket supporters that franchise cricket will mean the death knell for some of the counties.
Course it wasn’t. Another thing knackers overlook is that even if the grounds are FULL for all these games, which they won’t be, it’s LESS paying supporters than the Blast will get in an instance where the grounds are only half full.

I read that attendances at the Oval, Edgbaston and OT are down on what they would expect Surrey, Warwickshire and Lancs to get for a T20. Despite the blanket advertising push.
And attendances at Durham, Somerset, Essex and 7 others are down 100%
What a waste.
Course they do, they want the competition AND the counties to fail. They want certain counties to fall into such a terrible state that the only option left is to wind them up as businesses and force them to become minor counties.Just looking at Durham fixtures
Tues Middlesex
Thurs Gloucestershire
Thurs Lancs
SUNDAY Sussex
Tues Worcs
Thurs Hampshire
Due to, you know, working, I can attend 1 game out of the next 6. WTF! Ridiculous scheduling. It's as though they want it to fail
Bloody good job they're streamed or I'd have gotten nothing for my membershipCourse they do, they want the competition AND the counties to fail. Certain members of the ECB have been on record as saying 18 counties is too many.
Agree with the reduction in counties for me 18 is to many and there should have reformed themselves 15 years ago and I bet quite a few wish they had.It (Test and ODI cricket) being played at domestic level isn’t the concern. Exactly. See above.
If so hopefully it's done on number of players produced for England, or number of championships won. Unfortunately though, it'll be 'its cold up north and they don't make much coin, get shot of Durham'Agree with the reduction in counties for me 18 is to many and there should have reformed themselves 15 years ago and I bet quite a few wish they had.
They’ll get shot of us and keep Wales (Glamorgan) and their setup that hasn’t produced an England player since EA were making Cricket games. If so hopefully it's done on number of players produced for England, or number of championships won. Don’t know if this has been mentioned, have they made a conscious decision to have family friendly sponsors? As I haven’t seen any gambling or drink adverts on advertising boards, plenty for crisps tho![]()
Off down there next week for our game. Can’t waitGreat crowd in at Taunton and a fantastic game too.
Probably the counties themselves.Who decides who goes then?
Obesity crisis ongoing in the UK and they’re all wearing clothing emblazoned with fatty snackfoods![]()
Which 3 would you pick?Probably the counties themselves.
Brilliant county and s blue print for Durham moving forward if only we could be as commercially successful as them .Great crowd in at Taunton and a fantastic game too.
Why would we make a county that has never won the Championship in their 126 year history and barely produces England cricketers our ‘blue print’?Brilliant county and s blue print for Durham moving forward if only we could be as commercially successful as them .
Derbyshire Leicestershire and Northants. Personally and I have said on this platform before Glamorgan are a shocking county they have offered nothing for over two decades but they are powerful within the ECB.Which 3 would you pick?
They do mate they think r are outstanding. Durham only issue is commercial they have no issues on the actual playing side. Why would we make a county that has never won the Championship in their 126 year history and barely produces England cricketers our ‘blue print’?
It’s more likely they’ll look to us for theirs.
