T20 :: Durham v Derbyshire

Looked pretty poor all round tbh, shame it's petered away after such a promising start

The road from Barnsley to Glossop doesn't even pass Lady Bower either

Aye, I've been to Ladybower and it was a short drive from Sheffield.

Not dogging I hasten to add.

Well overall the difference was Potts, can't be dressed up any other way really. Thought on the whole we batted well enough and bowling wasn't too bad. It is what it is, frustrating evening but you can't expect to bowl 4 overs for 50 runs and expect to win. Some positive signs but some frustrating signs.

No doubt about Potts was pants 4 for 50. are not good figures
What started off very promising with a bang ended up a very damp squid of a campaign
We really missed Trevaskis who has been excellent for us. I also think Dickson deserves a lot of credit for his steady away constant contribution in this campaign

Dickson has been our most consistent t20 batsman. A shame he has looked so ordinary in the CC.

Potts is our leading wicket taker by a country mile. Sure he wasn’t at his best today but you can’t argue with his performance as a whole. At least he’s still available and fit to play unlike several other names below.

Well below par performance tonight but I'm not really bothered. Probably blown our chances of making the quarter finals, but if your going to lose to the weaker teams in the group then it's all that can be expected. We are very competitive, assuming we have a full squad to pick from, if the team plays out of its skin. Anything less than that and we just cave in and lose. Overall I've enjoyed this T20 campaign, was quite surprised at how well we played early in the competition but it brought false hope. Maybe we can pick up some points from the last 2 games but it will be tough. We've definitely improved and thats all that matters to me.

Tbf, economy rate not wickets is how you should rank T20 bowlers, and that puts Trevaskis ahead of the rest

You shouldn't rank people on wickets ok haha
In T20, fool. Go on Cricinfo and they're ranked in economy.

Still not explained why you think Potts has a good record weeks after saying his record was shite.

I'm bothered as it was arguably our best chance of a trophy.

Have to say Borthwick with the ball has surprised me this season. He's not great but a lot better than I expected. However, if a trade was possible (it isn't) I'd prefer him to recover his batting form from before he went South rathe than bowl.

They did start about the wild drive from Penistone to Glossop though, just got their Derbyshire mountain passes mixed up

I was waiting for a League of Gentlemen reference myself !
That butchers is still there, and he does sell special sausages......

Leading wickets taker in this format I never called him shite at all nevermind in this format

For me the bowlers don't mix it up enough. No, very little, variation. Potts, Stokes just chuck the same ball down most the time. As soon as pressure they chuck a few leg side wides in for fun.

Taking wickets exerts pressure on a side and tends to slow down their scoring. That’s exactly what happened to us last night. Conversely we didn’t take enough! Any side that has lost just three or four by the time they reach the 15th over is always in a good position to push for a big score. Sure economy is important but average and strike rate are also important factors.
