It is absolutely insane how someone who did quite shite is loved but Bruce who has done canny and better is absolutely despised

Speaks volumes he’s been out of work since January and the only club he’s managed since leaving them was in China.
He’d have left China without a second thought if a “big” club had come in for him (mind it would have depended on the dosh being offered too)

The Reverend Wraith has made himself look an even bigger tit than I ever dreamed possible over this.

I'm clearly in the minority here but i think it's a good appointment.

Everton don't have the players to play an open brand of attacking football, he will get them organised and then they have quality in Richarlison, DCL and Rodriguez to score goals. It won't be exciting football but i think he will make them effective.

Will look forward to the 5 things this means for the takeover in the chronicle

5) it’s off
4) it was never on
3) Rafa was key to the takeover
2) he’s from Spain I’m from spain
1) yep, still off!

Just because you have a decent front three doesn't mean you can be expansive. Rodriguez and DCL don't track back, they would get mullered on the break and added to the fact they now have two average fullbacks for Prem level.

Central midfield is also slow.

To Rafa it is a job. If asked would have went to any one of 9 or 10 Premier clubs and no doubt 9 or 10 would have wanted him ... provided with both parties the price was right.
It is of barely any consequence given the managerial ( sorry senior coach ) merry go round the Premier has become.
He may, like Moyes, be a one season wonder. Or fall flat on his face. Either way it is all dependent on the money he can spend and how good his recruitment is. Or rather who he agrees to purchase from a list provided by the Director of Football.
The cult of the manager is over rated and always has been.
