We need 4 seamers because Wood can’t bowl long spells. So we’d have to take out another batsmen for a spinner, we’ve already got Wood at 8.

Not saying I agree with the lack of spinner, but without an all rounder something has to give. They have decided part time spin from Root is the sacrifice to make.

Well that’s right but you look at the opposition, they’ve had 5 or 6 changes and still come up with a balanced team, two left armers, a right armer, an offie, and a decent all rounder and we’re 140/4 on the first day having won the toss. I know we’ve got a couple of injuries but we’re so unbalanced.

I worry for us in the winter and wonder where the guts are that’ll stop another 5-0? The batting Root apart is so fragile and the thought of Hazlewood, Cummins, Starc Lyon ripping us apart is horrible.
