Should have played SalisburyPeople talking a lot about the batting, but we had them 54/5 in the second innings yet remarkably let them recover to 301 all out, with some loose bowling and lack of variety. If we'd tidied that innings up at under 100 we'd have won the game.
I wanted Potts but in hindsight Salisbury was definitely the choice especially on that pitch.Should have played Salisbury
Yeah thats fair enough….i do think this Durham side have a bit more fight in themGutless? Teams get beat, it happens. Doesn’t mean they are gutless though.
Should have played Salisbury
couldn't take wickets so just strangled runs instead
He's contributed well for DurhamYes, his customary 2 wickets versus Potts 1 would have made a massive difference.
Yup. We need to do this but are incapable as Borthwick can't hold down an end.
He's adequate, but needs replacing if we are to make the next step up. No surprise we won two games when he was dropped for Wood. He's contributed well for Durham

No doubt he will play at New Road on Thursday. I look forward to your analysis of his bowling.
Salisbury is more experienced than Potts but little to choose between their abilities. You can only gain experience though by playing, obviously. The weakness in our attack is lack of variation. Hence the need to give Trevaskis at least a chance.Overall 1st class averages and further below is number of wickets for this season in the CC
Salisbury - 30.97 average with economy of 3.53
Potts - 45.40 average with economy of 2.93
Carse - 29.87 average with economy of 3.82
Raine - 26.05 average with economy of 2.98
Rushy - 22.30 average with economy of 2.95
Rushy - 37 wickets 2021
Raine - 24 wickets 2021
Salisbury - 11 wickets 2021 (3 games)
Carse - 28 wickets 2021

Yes,flatters to receive thoughAgreed.
I'd love to see Paul Coughlin get his finger out as on his day he's a bloody useful cricketer but just isn't delivering at the moment

To complete the statistics I have inserted the 2021 season averages and strike rates above. Stats over fewer matches are much less reliable of course and tell only part of the picture anyway, but being current are perhaps a better indicator than whole-career figures.
Wood, by the way, in 3 matches took 10 wickets at an average of 23.30 and strike rate of 47.40.
