More of the same from Sunderland as things go from bad to worse for Di Canio. His side started well enough but really fell off the boil when they went behind. Di Canio may point to a couple of missed chances that would have changed the game, but the truth is that his side were second best for large periods of the match today. Lady Luck was certainly not on their side with Fletcher's injury, which came a matter of minutes after their final sub of the day had been made, but the most telling statistic from the match is zero shot on target. You cannot win matches if you do not hit the target - it's as simple as that.

But the Black Cats, under caretaker manager Kevin Ball's guidance showed signs of improvement and had their most shots in a league game (23) since December 2011.

Ball's men showed predictable energy and desire in the early stages, passing and moving with confidence and posing a threat going forward.

Before that Liverpool game back in 2013/14 he appeared on Sky in his club blazer and spoke passionately and eloquently. We got beat off an absolutely brilliant Liverpool team at the time but their 3rd goal came when we were chasing an equaliser and anyone who watched that game could see a vast improvement on the previous league game away to West Brom who themselves hadn't won a game all season.

Agreed. Our recruitment will be interesting, it'll be easy to spot if our new support staff have a brain between them.

He was a Donald bag carrier, Fishpaste was a visionary with his wholly inaccurate drivel which he wrote.

Charlie Wyke isn't unable to trap a bag of cement because he lacks motivation. He can't trap a back of cement because he's an awful footballer. It isn't a lack of motivation that made Bailey Wright miss a free header from six yards out. It's not a lack of motivation that turned Flanagan and Burge into the football Keystone Cops. More motivation isn't going turn either Hume or McFadzean in to a presentable defender.

This shite group of players has failed repeatedly for three years, under three managers. Our current position has next to nothing to do with managers. We need better players. Plain and simple.

was it lack of motivation that brought Diamond on in the 90th minute and LJ says there full back couldn’t handle him?
 
Losing Sanderson has absolutely killed us. We were relying on being strong defensively because this team does not have many goals in it - doesn't seem to matter how we set up we rarely score more than 1 goal in a game.

I think Wyke and Mcgeady will go at the end of this season and we need to take the opportunity to build a squad capable of scoring and creating chances from midfield as well as in attacking areas.

Do you think he had any impact on the development both as players and men of Henderson and Pickford?
