Here's a poser for you.....just for one game, the second leg.

Unbelievable that there really is a desperation/determination amongst some people, to pin this on Johnson.

We aren't being overrun in midfield because our midfielders lack motivation. We're being overrun in midfield because our midfielders are - to a man - shit, slow, limited plodders. Charlie Wyke isn't unable to trap a bag of cement because he lacks motivation. He can't trap a back of cement because he's an awful footballer. It isn't a lack of motivation that made Bailey Wright miss a free header from six yards out. It's not a lack of motivation that turned Flanagan and Burge into the football Keystone Cops. More motivation isn't going turn either Hume or McFadzean in to a presentable defender.

This shite group of players has failed repeatedly for three years, under three managers. Our current position has next to nothing to do with managers. We need better players. Plain and simple.

Massive summer for the recruitment team.
Well the January transfer window did not bring any improvement. What makes you think the summer signings will be any better?

I find it unbelievable that some still think Johnson can evade any blame for our current predicament.
I remind you that our current run is W1, D4, L5, down there among the worst runs in our history.

League 1 is full of limited players, but we (believe it or not) have some of the better ones.
The manager's job is to put together a team with a formation and tactics that minimises the limitations of the players and maximises their abilities, then drill this into the players so they know their roles and responsibilities, then play those effin formation and tactics.

LJ looks like the drunk trying to get his key in the door when he's choosing who and how to play.
He's tried so many permutations and combinations but can't decide on the right one, and even when he gets a result, he changes everything next time out.

I have no confidence in LJ being involved in recruitment for next season.
Get rid of him now and recruit a manager who knows how he wants to play and recruit the payers to match that.
The alternative is another sacking in October (LJ has shown in 4 jobs now that he can't produce a consistently winning side) and another poor sod trying to manage someone else's squad.

So your plan is to sack a manager that took us from 11th to 4th, before he's even had a fair crack at a single transfer window? That's your recipe for turning the club around?

Why are you only quoting his last ten games? Do the 25 games before that not count?

I'm working on the (surely sensible) premise that a transfer window without the salary cap - and with a pot to piss in - might actually allow us to make a meaningful signing or two.

Or are we blaming Johnson for the salary cap and the previous lack of investment as well?

It's LJ fault that he'd rather keep playing leadbitter and power rather than young players like Dan Neil and Embleton. Embleton not gold enough to get in our side and plays in a team far better than we are.
Its LJs fault Willis is out for so long, as he didn't trust sanderson and preferred to play an unfit Willis, thus resulting in our defensive shortcomings.

That's massively over simplistic. Blackpool play in a way that our squad just can't. They have pace and energy - they stretch the game and because of that, Embleton gets space to play/has options on the ball. The idea that he'd be doing for us, now, what he's doing for them is for the birds. It doesn't work like that.

The last 10 games is the normal measure of current form. If you want to go back to the start, his ppg isn't as good as Parkinson, who we sacked.

I'm going on the sensible premise that we entrust whatever funds we have to spend with a manager whose has a record which includes some kind of success. LJ has not achieved anything in management, despite something like 400 games in charge, and shows no sign of being able to bring success to SAFC.

What makes you think these players give a fuck about Kevin Ball?

They’re mentally weak, that’s the main issue.

You absolutely f***ing nailed it. 👍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I'd put them all with the under 11's for some basic skills training .

Which manager are you suggesting?

What's the "measure" of success that a team looking at a fourth year in League One can expect to attract? Promotions in Scotland weren't "enough". Multiple promotions from League One weren't "enough". However many seasons managing in top half of the Championship now apparently aren't "enough".

I'd look for someone who has shown he can bring youngsters through. Next season has to be a rebuild with youngsters.

Please explain the last ten games, his ridiculous substitutions, failure to stick with a settled team, and the fact arguably our best central midfielder is shut out instead of Max Arsehole Power?

It doesn't always work like that.
But jack Ross and now LJ have overly relied on older players rather than young players.
That 19 yr old Johnson was imo the most exciting player on the pitch. Far better than mcgeady & Jones
I doubt that LJ would persevere with youth like that at sunderland. The omission of Dan Neil has been ridiculous. We're crying out for someone with a quick footballing brain rather than power or leadbitter who 99% of the time turn backwards and slow down play.
He only played sanderson by default
