Spot on.But he has shown no proof at his previous 3 clubs that he has what it takes to get promoted.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for a young up and coming manager and to gain stability for a few years but only if its the right manager. Get the wrong one and we stagnate in league 1 for a few more years.
What do you see in LJ other than being young because I don't see much?
The injury crisis is his ace in the hole. His ppg is no better than the last two failures, who knows what may have happened without two defences wiped out. He's developed a good team spirit, raised confidence levels enough to get the lads comfortable with the ball at their feet. Worked wonders with Charlie Wyke. Brought some good performances out of several players, 09 generally performing well at centre back is quite a feat too. Managed to keep us in the hunt despite suffering a disastrous run of defensive injuries that probably would have scuppered any side in the division. He hasn't been here five minutes, certainly not long enough to put his stamp on the club. He'll still be sussing the lads out, particularly so given how many are out of contract soon. Some big decisions to be made on that front. He's young, articulate, into modern coaching methods which should see him work well with the support staff the owner has invested in. I can understand why Parky went, this lad looks a far better fit for Kyril's vision of our future.
PS. I have no axe to grind on his behalf, I'd never heard of the bloke before he rocked up here.![]()
