The injury crisis is his ace in the hole. His ppg is no better than the last two failures, who knows what may have happened without two defences wiped out.

What was he on about in his interview last night after the match?
He said 'trying to maintain confidence in the boys when there is negativity from the outside'
Is he having a pop at the fans on the message boards after the recent bad run?

Fans and manager should be able to take the flack. If they honestly gave it their best shot then they can ignore the comments and just put it down to fans over reacting. If they finished the game thinking they could've done more or done things differently then they should heed the comments by the fans. If grown men need their confidence maintaining because of what people say on a football forum them they are in the wrong profession.

Did you take it as a pop at the fans?
I have watched it 4 times now and can't think of it as anything else, maybe I'm wrong.

I think the point he was making is that against Charlton and Blackpool we were unlucky to lose it wasn't like we played particularly poorly but some comments made it sound like we shockingly bad.
Tin hat well and truly on but if we as fans are quite rightly allowed to give criticism should we not be able to take it as well? Or should the club take all the shit we can throw but spit our dummies the minute anyone says anything back?
Personally I think it was stupid thing to say but he has his opinion and it's not going to ruin my day.

No I agree with you but the fact remains we were poor of late and the criticism was warranted.

Charlton yes, we should’ve been 3-0 up. I disagree with him regarding the Blackpool one though. Other than an almost moment from McGeady, we looked like we could’ve played for a week and not scored.

There’s also ones we’ve been lucky to win. Bristol Rovers for example, a scuff off the shin on AOB got us the points. Crewe we relied on 2 wonder goals to get us a point. We didn’t look great against Oxford until the red card.

We’ve only really had 3 really good performances. Lincoln (which we could’ve been 2-0 down in), Doncaster & Portsmouth.

Yes, and the community. The players don’t really live in Ivory towers away from the voices on the street.

He gained confidence, in who he was, however.

There was the story about him being asked to leave by a bouncer in the Cooperage on the Newcastle Quayside due to his group acting up.

He reputedly asked the doorman “do you know who I am?”. A question which hastened his descent down the near vertical staircase.

I thought against Blackpool a draw would have been a fair result as I thought we played ok.
He has a big 13 months ahead of him either promotion this season through the play offs or next season by any means

I want him to succeed, then we’d all be happy.
However, since he came in we have rarely seen a dominating, entertaining, winning performance. Recently Portsmouth away is the only game that we have dominated from start to finish. We have taken three points from fifteen v Lincoln, Peterborough, Wigan, Blackpool and Hull. That is pathetic form for a team hoping to win promotion, even allowing for injuries we should be doing far better with the players available.

I don’t like the Brent-isms in a lot of his rhetoric or the recent comments in the public arena regarding Maguire or last night after the draw at Hull about outside pressures. Keep it behind closed doors, Lee.

People are correct to say that his managerial record to date is far from inspiring but we al wish him all the luck in the world as he attempts to steer us to a much needed promotion and greatly enhance his CV in the process. I also acknowledge he hasn’t been here very long and needs to bring his own players in. For now he has enough to take us to the championship if he utilises them properly.

Was never a pen and we’d be f***ing fuming if that was given against us.

Definitely not. Another unforced change of personnel, another unforced change of system.

The team that played Hull, with the exception of Hume for McFadzean, would win today.

Johnson thinks he’s too good a manager for lowly Accrington Stanley, so has to chop and change for no reason.
