Johnson Out

Aye, he'll be well integrated into our set up and totally up to speed on our squad.
It's the best option to be honest. Trying to get a good manager in now will be tough and won't be up to speed as you put it for the play offs.
This is a particularly acute problem at Sunderland.

Stability is needed so the Speakman Johnson management team should be persevered with for a few seasons to start to build the club in their image.
Even if it means never getting promoted for those 2 seasons?. Let's face it LJ has nothing on his CV regarding promotion and he's blown it this year.

If we don't go up this season I am sure that Johnson will be backed to correct the weaknesses in the squad - however, he will only get next season to get us up. If he can't get us up next season then there would be ample proof that he just isn't a very good manager - his record at Bristol City, where he was backed, was average at best. It is still a bit baffling why he was chosen given such a mediocre record - can you think why he was chosen? He has a fantastic chance this year - the league is the weakest that it has been in the 3 years we've been down here and the play offs with Lincoln/Blackpool/Portsmouth or Charlton are about as weak as you could expect.

I wasn't convinced when we appointed him, I'm still not convinced now but to suggest sacking him this early on is utter lunacy

Let's just start each manager cycle by giving them rolling 5 game contracts, then as soon as each full moon comes around it will be easy to bin them and get the next one in.

His career is ahead of him not behind him. Who knows what anybody young can achieve if they are given the opportunity to grow.

This is 6 times champions of England SAFC in league one ffs. We need someone who will get us out of this shit division, not be somewhere for a manager to work themselves out in the hope he might achieve something.

Sack him and continue our annual cycle? - at some point we're going to have to stick with a manager and give them time to build a team.

Plus, who knows who we'll bring in next

He chose McFadzean over Hume and didn’t change it till he’d cost us 2 goals. Do you trust him to build a team?

Said it after Blackpool, will say it again tonight.

I don’t want the head coach of our football club to be someone who decides to start Callum McFadzean over Denver Hume. Then when it’s clear he’s getting done every time, cost us 1 goal, he doesn’t change it. Then does change it after it’s cost us 3 points.

Of course there’s the argument “these aren’t his players” - my question, if he thinks McFadz is better than Hume, do we really want to see the players he does bring in? Maguire not been getting in the squad despite him producing every time he comes off the bench?

We could be sitting pretty in second had he not tried to tinker with the team and the formation every time and cost us.

Was never a pen and we’d be f***ing fuming if that was given against us.

Got to go for me. I know he won’t be sacked before the end of the season, but we won’t achieve anything with him in charge.
"Mcfadz"

Nearly as embarrassing as your post.

If we are not promoted some questions do need to be asked by Kyril to be honest, we don’t want yet another situation where we get halfway through another season only to sack another manager and struggle to pick up what they left.

Kyril needs to decide if he wants his own man in charge if we are not promoted and like it or not will need to try and back Johnson until at least near the end of next season before getting rid of he underperforms.

The fact he's still starting McFadzean is a huge mistake, who has cost us goals long before now.

My point was at some point we need to stick with a manager, not that it has to be Johnson, but at some point we need that trust for a manager to build a team. Ultimately sits with the board to get the right appointment though.

Hume is nowhere near match fit after so long out - Johnson has no choice.

It's been over 85 years since we last won the first division so 6 times champions means the square root of f*ck all.
If we sack Johnson who do we get in and how long do we give them

This exactly can you imagine the reaction on here if Hume started last night not 100% match fit and ended up not being available for the play offs.
I honestly think Championship manager has a lot to answer for with the amount of frustrated managers on here
