Johnson Out

I'm on the fence atm however Dreyfus has a big decision to make in the summer if we're not promoted.

The past 2 seasons where we've kept the manager who has failed to get us up the previous year has proven to be a mistake with Ross and Parkinson both gone before the midway point of the following campaign.

Calling for his head now is ridiculous but he’ll not get to the new year unless there’s a fundamental shift in our level of performance next season ! Stuttering through games by the odd goal won’t be enough to save him and if he retains the bulk of this squad and continues to pick them he’s fucked !!

Even if he objectively got the decision wrong tonight, do you sack a manager one thing you disagree with? Crazy talk lad.

No, of course you don’t. I say it because, in my opinion, we haven’t been good in a long time. We’ve not played well since Pompey, we’ve scraped through games against the likes of Bristol Rovers. He’s made a lot of poor decisions in my book, his persistence with McFadzean is just an example.

I don't like him, but I don't think he should be sacked right now.

That said, if KLD decided he wanted to get rid and bring in his own man he couldn't really have many complaints.

Said it after Blackpool, will say it again tonight.

I don’t want the head coach of our football club to be someone who decides to start Callum McFadzean over Denver Hume. Then when it’s clear he’s getting done every time, cost us 1 goal, he doesn’t change it. Then does change it after it’s cost us 3 points.

Of course there’s the argument “these aren’t his players” - my question, if he thinks McFadz is better than Hume, do we really want to see the players he does bring in? Maguire not been getting in the squad despite him producing every time he comes off the bench?

We could be sitting pretty in second had he not tried to tinker with the team and the formation every time and cost us.

Was never a pen and we’d be f***ing fuming if that was given against us.

Got to go for me. I know he won’t be sacked before the end of the season, but we won’t achieve anything with him in charge.

Dear me 🤦

Yawn. Dull, boring.

Totally agree but right now would be a mad time to get rid.

Let’s assess it in a few weeks when we bottle the play-offs...

We aren’t getting out of this league with this manager. No one would be happier than me if we did, but he doesn’t know his best team, system, we’re getting less points per game than the dinosaur that was Phil Parkinson and he didn’t even bother using one of the best players in the league.

Johnson has never secured a promotion in his life, failed repeatedly at Bristol City to get them into the playoffs, makes shocking team selection decisions and fucks around with the team far too much.

Bristol City fans warned us of his own self importance and inability to take responsibility when he’s got it wrong (which he has done a lot of late).
It really makes you wonder what he said in interview as he's got zero experience of large fanbase clubs, promotion runs or indeed excelling in building a club that's fallen.

Those who interviewed him need to give themselves a f***ing slap.

He’ll have said the same shit that he comes out with after every match. Talk of USPS and fluidity and all that bollocks.

They said they were going to recruit on data but he has no experience at a club this size, or a track record of promotions, so fuck knows what data they looked at.

I'm with what I expect is the majority here that if we fail to get promoted and KLD/Speakman want a new manager to head up the rebuild of the squad, I'm fully on board. If they are comfortable giving Johnson the keys to a large trunk of cash, then I'll support that too. Giving Ross and Parkinson a summer to "strengthen the squad" when they both deserved the sack has played a big part in our current position. If we go up, then he'll obviously stay.

Right fair enough hes using parkies team.

Lets not let this take away from the fact hes tactically inept. He literally hasnt got a clue how to change the game in our favour. His only gameplan is pass it out wide and cross. even on our winning rub we were shite. It was only mcgeady and wyke pulling us out of the shit.

Hes annoying as fuck aswell

It's fuckwits like you that make forums like this a laughing stock

Nah. I do think he’s equal to blame for today though. Mcfadz had to come off the pitch. We played canny but the decision to leave him on when in the lead cost us 2 points.

We've got a midfielder playing right back, another midfielder playing centreback because we've got 4 centrebacks out injured. Bailey Wright doesn't look fit. Mcfadzean was brought in as cover at left back from a league two side but had had to play a lot of games due to injuries to Hume and Vokins.

The manager and squad have had a lot to deal with and have certainly made the effort but ultimately luck amongst other things haven't gone out way sadly.

Tonight was a very good performance against the best team in the league.

It's evident that Hume is still not match fit and his touch is a bit rusty so I think it's the correct decision to put him on the bench.

My only criticism of Johnson tonight would be that he didn't bring him on for Mcfadzean at half time as Malik Wilks was their biggest threat all night. Apart from that, Johnson got everything spot on.
