Wickets to be renamed 'outs' for The Hundred

Forego the toss of a coin and spin the bat : hill or hollow. No umpires and make it 3 LB's for each batter.Bin lids for stumps and length of bat and handle for crease.Play to go on till the lamp posts come on.Jam sandwiches to eaten on the field of play.
You forgot "tipply runs" I suppose that would the street version of 20/20.
Would imagine tipply runs could be placed into the Power plays. Also last man standing if the 16.4 overs aren't used up.Don't rule out 6 and 'outs'.Imagine the batters hopping over the nearby garden fences to get the ball back.
Imagine if the owner of said garden refused to give the ball back and play had to be halted until somebody's dad went round and telt him off for picking on the bairns.

I actually don’t think I’d understand it if I somehow ended up watching it (with a gun pressed to my head) Especially when it comes to overs or whatever they’re doing instead of overs

If anyone has ever tried explaining cricket to anyone who knows literally nowt about the game it’s entirely understandable that The Hundred is doing this. They’re after a new audience not hardy Test cricket purists.

The word wicket isn't part of the problem in the unique complexity of cricket, in fact it is entirely superfluous. Teams will still be 120 for 5, they will still unless they declare (now 'go all in') be 245 All Out (now 'done'). Will LBW now be LBO? and will there be an out-keeper, or do we move to a ball-stopper? Will the wicket itself now be the 'target' consisting of three sticks and two mini-sticks??

Should imagine the wickety will become the back stop.Point will be first base.Wide mid off second base.Wide mid on third base and square leg fourth base and thus 1 run.

And when the fad wears off, as it inevitably will, who will they expect to take up the shortfall?

Just to cheer you all up. Had an email from Yorkshire about tickets for this and whose face should be at the head of the email.
That’s right, that famous Leodensian Mr Ben Stokes
The utterly ridiculous situation when the most famous current yorkshire player is now with whatever the Trent bridge team is and the other name in yorkshire will be in the welsh team

its an utter farce

Well if the fad wears off it’s entirely failed and things will carry on as they were. I’m not particularly fond of this new competition, especially the disruption it’ll cause to the calendar but if it is successful in reducing a bit of the complexity of cricket to young lads and lasses and they get the bug then that can only be a good thing. They can then join clubs and learn the game properly.

Not the point but good try

the lads and lasses of the north east and south west are not being giving an opportunity. They are cherry picking all the decent players and leaving the rest to field weakened teams in the county game and the 50 over comp, which we are champs in, but now give not one shiney shite about.

this was devised by Colin graves whose sole role was to strengthen yorkshire and ruin clubs he deemed fit as not worthy.

it’s a folly. Makes no sense. Yorkshire two most prized players are off to Nottingham and Wales to play. Good for the yorkshire youngsters

durhams star is off to yorkshire. 100 mile plus round trips for the youngsters of the north east to see him

you are wasting your time trying to make this as a positive to me, others may entertain you, but don’t expect many.

91% of county members are against it. Says it all
