I'd rather win 8-9 games in the premier league every season and stay up than see "lots of wins" at the top of the championship and miss out on promotion. That said, I would rather win the championship than get relegated from the premier league. A win in the premier league is worth at least two in the championship.

Tbh, finishing between 13-17th in the premier league is probably the best we can hope for and would be a massive improvement on our current situation. If in 2 or 3 years time that was where we were I would be ecstatic.
Being 13th to 17th in the premier league is what made me start doing the Scottish grounds and the rest of the 92. I was sick to death of watching Sunderland play away to Stoke and getting humped by the top 6.

I still did a lot of Sunderland away games and all the home games but I picked my away games and went to Scotland if we were playing Arsenal or Man City.

I will admit the ticket prices were an issue as well. Man Utd and Liverpool had started charging us £45 or £50 for a match ticket. When the £20's plenty camapign came in for away games that was a game changer in many ways.

To be fair, that's the crux of it. There has to be more, and there can be. No reason Sunderland could be in the top half or going for Europe.

I’ve never gotten over how much Bruce destroyed our squad in 2011. Partly because the potential and momentum was there for all to see but mostly because of how he tried to revise history about his time here.

With that all said I can’t enjoy watching him get the kind of abuse he pretended he got while here from his own people - even though there’s part of me that hopes it means he now sees how wrong he was. The level of stuff getting posted on social media from some is shocking. Hes gone from being a FGB or a cabbage to having people wish him dead or talking about his dead parents etc. He’s a human being at the end of the day.
Totally agree. It is only a game ffs. Folk really do take insignificant stuff far too seriously.
I see Hayden out for rest of season now.
Big blow. Their most consistent midfielder, never goes missing like Jonjurr and Hendrick.
If Wilson doesn't hit the ground running really are in deep shit be even tho it's difficult to see Fulham picking up the points to overtake them.
Our saving grace i think. If they hit another minor purple patch we are done. That performance against Brighton stank of surrender.

"What can we do? I don’t really know but I decided to stand close to the training ground on Tuesday morning with a cabbage on a stick on a one man protest. This was allegedly the first day back at training after the Brighton debacle, which I had had over two days to stew on"

This....is f***ing GOLD 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Was I slightly apprehensive and then embarrassed standing holding a cabbage? I’m a 65 year old law abiding grandparent who has had a successful career and am now enjoying retirement so the answer is a resounding ‘’Yes.’’

I really want to hear the cabbages side of this argument. I dare say it wasn't happy at having a stick shoved up it arse then photographed

My dad isn't handling lockdown very well.

Lots of these replies on here have the same comments....."I have it on good authority / A mag I work with says that blah blah blah /A friend of a friend who walked Rafa's dog heard it from the horses mouth / A bloke down the pub etc etc etc".

Then the best of all... "Rafa got you relegated / Rafa fucked off to China / All mags almost wank over Rafa"........the facts are, 1 He was brought in to late to save us from relegation, 2 He only started negotiation's/visa application when it was clear Fat Mike wasn't going to offer assurances/money etc, 3 He was best manger we've had since Robson and the only people who keep banging on how we supposedly worship the guy is sad Sunderland fans.
Sad mags that camp out on here are far more sad, oh and pathetic.

Can't see us getting many points over the remaining games. Fulham only need to stay within two points. Match our results and then beat us on the last day.
