Brighton are a decent side but lack firepower.
Mags are a poor side that lack firepower.

You could stop enjoying this quite so much hahaJust to cheer the resident mags up this morning; I am told by someone who should know that it's now 33 consecutive visits that Leeds have failed to beat any team within the M25 and Bamford is a serious doubt for Friday.
Have a nice day!
Again, you're talking about winning the league, where I've been consistently talking about midtable.Of course they've regressed, if Man City win the league and then finish third the season after with more points have they regressed?
No two seasons are the same, three teams go up and three go down, you can't use points gained as you're not playing the same teams.
I understand all of that. I also understand that League position isn't the best measure of a midtable-team's progress, as it is affected by results in games that the team cannot affect. Which is the common sense position I took about a week ago that a few of you would rather argue against because a Mag said it, than accept it on it's own merit.Go easy on the common sense, it’ll confuse the fish. Some people don’t seem to understand that squads change, new players need time to adapt, key players can get long term injuries, players get older and slower, clubs change managers, etc...
“getting more points” might be because the other teams are shitter. That’s not something your team can affect.Again, you're talking about winning the league, where I've been consistently talking about midtable.
You're playing the same 16 of 20 teams. 80% are the same teams. And, for a midtable club, you can use points gained as a marker for progression/regression as those points are reflective of your teams' results across the season.

For a mid table club you can also use league placings as a marker for progression/regression as those placings are reflective of your teams results across the season.Again, you're talking about winning the league, where I've been consistently talking about midtable.

Apart from games won, goals scored, goals scored from open play, goals conceded, shots per game, shots on target per game, shots allowed per game, tackles made per game, interceptions made per game... All of those were worse in Bruce's first season. As placings gain prize money but points don't they're as important as xGs in this argument! Yet again a mag comes on here and try to twist an argument to fit their hatred of Ashley and Bruce. Just accept there is very little difference in Bruce's first year to benetiz seasons. You'll likely rattle on about net spend next, something else the vast majority of supporters don't care about. Sky have an awful not to be sorry for over the years
But they did get a certificate which had their star midfielder buzzing iirc![]()
You were almost identical position without the strikers used the previous season. It was a good year. Unlike this one but don't let me get in the way of the agenda your pushing.Apart from games won, goals scored, goals scored from open play, goals conceded, shots per game, shots on target per game, shots allowed per game, tackles made per game, interceptions made per game... Fixed it for you.For a mid table club you can also use league placings as a marker for progression/regression as those placings are reflective of your teams results across the season but can also be impacted by the results of games you can't influence and so isn't the best marker of your teams progress/decline.
I've only mentioned Benitez when others have brought it up. My point, from the off, was that League position is affected by other teams' performances in other games and, as such, isn't the best marker for your teams' progress/decline.You were almost identical position without the strikers used the previous season. Your final points total is affected by other teams as well.I've only mentioned Benitez when others have brought it up. My point, from the off, was that League position is affected by other teams' performances in other games and, as such, isn't the best marker for your teams' progress/decline.
Team A gets 39pts every season for 4 years, they can finish 17th, 15th, and so on. According to some on here, finishing 15th on 39pts shows progress.
This whole conversation has been the usual suspects seeing the name of the person who posted it, and reacting to that, rather than the argument and it must be f***ing boring to everyone else.
It has to come down to what performances are like, and the direction that the season has gone in.Again, you're talking about winning the league, where I've been consistently talking about midtable.
