Just what I was about to post after watching last night's brief highlightsHow was Lemina's arm by is side - handball and Kante arms up - not handball, it's nuts.
Of course the NUFC supporting VAR official was totally unbiased in his decisionsHow was Lemina's arm by is side - handball and Kante arms up - not handball, it's nuts.
The problem is these managers and pundits moaning now wanted it for years. They're the ones who have caused this.
Thankfully we don't need to worry about it for a couple of years until we're back up there again...
Absolutely the very ones twisting now were twisting before it.
If everyone in football or connected to it had just accepted mistakes by refs in the same way they accept missed pens or mistakes by players as just part and parcel of the game they would have been no need for VAR.
But course they did not so have now got they just desserts!
It stinks this VAR would rather go with ref and linesman decision any time ,you win some decisions and loose some normally evens out in time. Would love to see a true fans poll on this VAR against human decisions .
Nope.

like who? if you mean people in the media, pundits and that who twisted on before, then i don't beleive they are wanting it scrapped as they are on the TV companies payroll
if you mean fans, then i dont recall many fans, if any, wanting VAR introduced
Would have liked to know what the pundits would say, perhaps why it was a shortened version.Just what I was about to post after watching last night's brief highlights
I remember loads and loads of fans especially our fans on this very board complaining on a regular basis about refs decisions rather than accepting them as part and parcel of the game.
They might not particularly called for VAR itself, but there was loads of comments around ‘ Something needs to be done about it’
Rather than just accepting the rough with the smooth that happens in football with refs decisions.
Not to mention the managers as well.
So yes media etc did twist but without a doubt so did managers and fans rather than just leaving well alone.
Hence he we are with VAR with everyone twisting rather than accepting
Apart from our games I've completely given up on football. Every year it gets incrementally shitter and shitter in one way or another. I can't be fucked with the Premier League and other than knowing Man City are running away with it I couldn't tell you a single other thing about this season. The handball rule is shit, VAR is shit, and the fact there can be one kick off on a Saturday at 3pm is shit. They can keep it.
I can handle most rules in football, but part of the joy of watching football was the non-stop action of it (apart from when people got injured etc when you have to stop the game), but VAR is ruining it and I would rather put up with a decision no matter how bad it is, than have this.Players barely celebrate a goal now as every “goal” is checked to see if it can be disallowed.
VAR is and will always be f***ing shit.

The fact there are no crowds in, means that the administrators have gotten away with it somewhat this season, but I very rarely watch PL games now and it is because of this, and if we ever get back to the PL, this is one aspect I would not look forward to.
Can you imagine what they would have made of the beach ball goalit would be enough to stop me going eventually, if we got back the prem. if it got to the point where it was so engrained into supporters that goals weren't celebrated anymore, then it would be the nail in the coffin for me. absolutely pointless.
unfortunately the people in charge of the game don't have a single clue about what the game actually is, at its core. to them, its a business. and as any capitalist venture, it will naturally run its course as a cash cow and then be discarded
disagree. people have always complained about refs, in every sport. people complain about authority being unfair to them when they fuck up themselves, its a natural reaction to try and blame someone else
VAR wasnt introduced due to fans complaining. the footballing authorities have never listened to fans on any subject. they will never introduce anything into the game unless they think they are going to make more money out if.
i hear 10 x more fans complaining about ticket prices and lack of safe standing, and stupid kick off times, and playing semi finals at wembley, and the introduction of u23 teams into the EFL cup, stuff like that, that actually effects fans, that would be universally backed by everyone.... none of these issues are anywhere near being sorted out by the authorites, but all of a sudden its the fault of football followers for VAR?
its nonsense. its introduced plainly and simply to make the game more appealing to the tv audience.
for a start, when you are in the actauly ground, you haven't got a clue what is going on with VAR anyway. but those at home get the full multi-angle slow-mo replays
