It’s only going to get worse with the just eat mentality. Some people just can’t or won’t cook and just exist on takeaways. I must admit my takeaway consumption has gone up with the ease of ordering in the last couple of years.

I'm not a fan of Boris, but I think people might have to give up with saying he's responsible for 120,000 deaths, as I don't think he ordered what is looking like over 50,000 to eat as much crap as possible. As 40,000 a year die from obesity related illnesses, we shouldn't blame Covid for taking those lives a little sooner than expected.

The fat mess of a PM on Twitter has said as a nation we have to get fitter, as gyms are shut and the leisure sector has been hit by 11 years of Tory austerity. A year and a day after he bragged about shaking hands with Covid hospital patients. Clown.

Maybe you need to take a long look at the ‘fat mess’ of a PM. Since he left hospital after having covid he has lost a substantial amount of weight. Shows how he is practising what he preaches.

It's fairly simple. If you put into your body more energy than it burns up, you put on weight. If you put in less, you lose it. That's entirely down to the person and what they do.

That said, we live in a country where more and more crap food and drink is available in more ways than ever before. Even some of the vegan / plant based new foods are unhealthy. I understand that more willpower is needed than at any other time these days.

But if you don't want to die of Covid, or have complications to your health the older you get, it's down to you. Something I learned the hard way.

Was a great South Park episode called ‘Let Them Eat Goo’ where Cartman fights for ages because they want the menu in school plant based and has two heart attacks.

In the end he accepts it because the vegan food is full of salt, additives and all the stuff he loves anyway.

I agree with the rest of your post too.

PE has been replaced by computer clubs. Is it any wonder kids get fat
No it hasn't.
More needs done at schools and P.E has to be as important as all the other core subjects. But parents need to give themselves a shake and do more to help their kids. My 9yr old nephew is already fat and is only going one way. They seem completely oblivious to it. It is v frustrating
There isn't the facilities for every child to do PE everyday.

Been nowt short of a disgrace how much money has been thrown at marketing Just Eat, Deliveroo and to a lesser extent Uber Eats throughout this whole debacle. Talking 10s of millions £££ targeting couch potatoes with nowhere else to go and nowt to spend their wages on. Obesity crisis hasn’t happened overnight but nobody has done a bat to slow it down even with what we know about covid, if anything it’ll increase the way we are heading.

£520 million spunked on the eat out to help out campaign in the middle of a pandemic.
