What are you suggesting? It hit him on middle angling down it was always going to be leg stump or umpires call.

I'm not suggesting anything before you start licking the hoops of the umpires again.

Well in fact, I'm suggesting that it shouldn't of been umpires call.

the Bairstow decision was a shocker like

No batsman given out LBW who was LBW is ever a shocker. Hit him in line and was going on to hit the stumps. That said it is probably the only LBW decision that has went against us all tour that I haven't thought was out 'live'. I thought the umpire had mistakenly given him out caught behind. However Siraj is a skiddy bowler and it was out.

Mate NEPL bowlers cant go to South Africa and be England's premier spinner for a 3-1 win like

what planet are you living on?

There is a jump from saying you dont think he is test quality to saying your mates down to the local club are better bowlers, you sound the local madman.

I’ll ignore the juvenile stuff RE mates down the club and planetary living arrangements as this is a forum and I’m aware folk like to go down that route and I’m not up for tit for tat.

You disagree, that’s fine. But there are spin bowlers playing top level club cricket, I’m not talking about the village green, who bowl with better control and consistency than Dom Bess. Whether it be former first class cricketers, overseas players, former academy players who have matured or experienced premier league spinners, they are able to bowl with more consistency than Bess does. His batting and fielding, as well as the fortune of playing on a very spin friendly pitch in the south west, have given him the edge. Even with that fortune, his career stats to date are nothing above par.

No there aren’t mate

This is hyperbole at its worse

Tell me one bowler who could have gone to South Africa and bowled like he did

One name please

I’m not being juvenile at all, read what you are wiring, it’s insanity

Did you actually watch the South Africa series?

'Wobbly Bob' from Dog and Rat in Broughton (Scunny District League) wasn't bad if you could keep him below 6 pints of Bombadier prior to bowling.

Quality him tbf, he'd have had De Kock in all sorts of trouble

Imagine thinking an NEPL bowler could do better than Dom Bess did in a full house at Capetown, an inconic venue, on the flattest of pitches, he bowled beautifully and gave them nothing to hit, big reason we won that game under the biggest of pressures.

You're being really disrespfctul to what it takes at top level sport.

I am not Dom Bess supporter at all I just find this really poor.

On field umpires have ben excellent again.

Pitch is good, on field umpires have had another good day, shame about the players. It could well be a case of 275 being a decent score and there was absolutely nothing in that pitch today to prevent us from doing that.
It swung and nibbled for the seamers this morning, and there was bounce and carry too. No big turn or balls going through the surface. It’s clearly a decent strip.
Shows they clearly can make one & makes a mockery of that last two.
Umpires have been good again yes, nice to see us on the right end of an umpires call on lbw with Gill, only need about another 15 to even things up ;)

If we lose I think its been a missed opportunity. 1-0 up won important tosses where marginally better first innings scores would have given us a great chance. Been a good learning experience you aren't always going to have it plain sailing.

No complaints from me today, India have been excellent,England being outplayed fair and square.

Definitely. Got the team selection all wrong in each of last three matches in my book, little things but we had the momentum and unfortunately for various reasons that we’ve been over they’ve managed to grab it back.
All that’s left now is to hope we return the favour when they visit in the summer.

Yep they’re a better side unfortunately and it’s showing. We’re masters at shooting ourselves in the foot though.

They are no question. The annoying thing is they haven’t had to do anything spectacular to prove it in the last few games

Regarding the pitches for test matches 2 and 3 i don't necessarily feel cheated in terms of winning or losing but more cheated out of what should have been an exceptional series.

I feel like it’s been a fit up from the last ball of the first Test, so yeah I too feel cheated out of what could have been an exceptional series but also what could have been an excellent win.

No they haven’t, we’ve been really really poor.
I obviously think there’s been other factors as well, but the first test apart we’ve just not been good enough, leaves lots of questions now going forward which when we were in a relatively strong position after Sri Lanka is a concern.

Not judging them off the last 2 farcical test matches mind

Great to see the openers doing so well on turning wickets again

As you say Jennings scoring 100s is absolutely no big deal, anyone can do it

Oh wait

Bowl them out cheaply (which isn't out of the question) and bat sensibly (hmm), and we can win this. Definitely wouldn't fancy batting last.
