No doctor is going to put covid on a death certificate unless he is convinced that the patient has covid. He has very strict regulations about what he puts on a certificate and would be risking his career if he deliberately told lies. Why would any sane doctor want to risk his career just to put covid on a death certificate?

I know of someone who died, had no symptoms, and tested negative, but covid was put on the death certificate.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was widespread.

I’d be surprised if their system was brilliant. Their - ahem history - means they are not very supportive of that sort of thing. One region was using people’s Christian names to try and determine age for vaccine as they don’t have the data. Of course the UKs was absolutely shite because the moron paid his mates to do it.
One of the reasons that the UK vaccine rollout is going well is the access to people’s data the NHS have. The database that was expensive and went through a few fuck ups when launched by Blair’s government but now paying dividends

So essentially it's largely because they don't think it's very effective, which it has proved to have been (80+% protection against hospitalisation and 100% against death, not to mention cutting majority of transmission), and so would rather have nothing and wait for a different one?

I'm assuming that they don't believe it's very effective because of the lies the Germans and Macron etc have been spreading? And so they are pretty much directly responsible for the fiascos in their own and other European countries. This is a scandal on a huge scale.

These are medics, most of whom probably understand science a bit better than any Government (though in fairness, Merkel is a scientist). The medics are the ones who are telling the Government that they don't want it and they want the vaccines that are better than 80% protection against HOSPITALISATION bearing in mind they are actually working in hospitals and dealing with covid patients.

As I've said before elsewhere, the big concern is variants and whether the vaccine will be effective against them. The AZ is fine with the British variants (slightly less efficacy), but there is a problem against the South African and the Californian variant (which could be very serious). As I've said, if I'm offered the AZ vaccine I will take it, but I would prefer to get a vaccine which might be mean that I won't have to be vaccinated again in a few months.

I had it 3 weeks ago felt slightly lethargic the next day, might only have been a coincidence. All the people I know who’s had it haven’t had any untoward side effects!

I know quite a few who felt like shit the next few days and struggled to do anything. 3 of the 4 lads at on my shift who had it didn’t feel great the next day. I suppose if I was a doctor making life and death decisions during incredibly long and stressful shifts, I’d want the vaccine that gave me the least side effects. feeling shitty would be a severe side effect if it has the potential to affect your performance or you had to stay off leaving wards understaffed.

I’m not a doctor though so I couldn’t give a flying fuck what they jab me with, I’ll be in like a shot when I’m called in and don’t care how cack I feel.

The article has a quote from the vaccine article ‘ it’s nothing to do with the vaccine’. There is no comparison with any other vaccine which may also have caused the same side effects leading to staff being off work for a very short time.
You have a narrative and you are trying to fit evidence to that.

Is that true? According to that article in Forbes, other vaccines are more effective.

Multiple unions representing healthcare workers in Europe have said many of their members don’t want the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca PLC, which was found to be 62% effective at reducing symptomatic disease in its trials and 81% effective in later data when the two doses were spaced out longer (competitors showed 90% efficacy).
