This is one of the better ones. Still convinced the Bog eyed con artist is going to buy them 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Amanda Stavely had a redesign of SJP drawn up that would increase capacity to up to 70,000. You can google it. It was printed in 2016. The pitch needed to be rotated 90 degrees and it was quite clever. PIF certainly knew of this and factored in the investment required and the ROI.

Our Cathedral belongs in its present location for all of us to look up whilst in Newcastle. PIF and Amanda have ambition, vision, and the means to make it happen. But first -Ashley needs to go"

Newcastle fans are obsessed with their club being "big".

The size of the stadium and their support is the only thing that qualifies them as a "big club" these days.

It's slowly dawning on them that even that is under threat as other clubs expand, and that they maybe aren't as big a club as they think
The stadium capacity is a huge thing for mags - scroll back on here to see the posts about only Prem team without a sub 30k crowd and so this drop to 8th will hit them. Not that it should. If you look at their commercial revenue it is absolutely woeful and that is their Achilles heel. Just like with us the same fans turning up every week doesn't get the tills ringing in the club shops. The best thing a new owner could do is sacrifice some seats and get some top quality corporate service. Would need a good PR to get that message over!

I've loads of Everton fans as mates and they wanted to be bigger than Anfield but the figures just didn't stack up so they would rather this than nothing. Just need a new Stamford Bridge, Elland Road and Villa Park to knock them out of the top 10.

Breathtaking self delusion

One thing I've noticed over the years is that the mags seem to have less normal saturday afternoon kickoffs than any other team in the PL.

They almost always play on Sunday, if not Saturday night.

Of course the reason behind it is television timing, but why are they given such a preferential bias for prime-time tv? even when they are shite?

Cant say ive really noticed but when they do have 3pm saturday ko’s its usually against shite like Brighton , Palace and Burnley....rather than the top sides who usually have misweek cup and european committments... eg why they played Man U on sunday

Ive also noticed this and thought it must be shit being a mag and not having standard Saturday kick offs.

I guess its the price of fame from being the nations 2nd favourite team, the entertainers, Barcelerna of the North etc etc etc

i guess its the price of being an also ran side and having to play your fixtures around the schedules of City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc etc

Comedy Central snapped up the rights to show their games, IIRC.
