 is this a wind up?

we've always used duke balls, its the other countries that changed

jesus wept man

how can you lack such basic knowledge?

we've ussed them since 1775

Sure we were looking to gain an advantage over the Indians then mate too

You seem to be getting a bit rattled as you do when the insults fly and the smilies increase but i will bare with you and try and stay respectful in my reply, You have been called out and challenged about biased completely unbalanced views throughout this thread. You are like Phil Thompson commenting on Liverpool. At one stage you were slagging of umpires who give us out LBW when they were LBW and saying nothing when the same happens to their players. Imagine you if Kohli had got away with the Root decision at the end of the day - you would have spontaneously combusted as yet more further proof of a great conspiracy. You like to think of your self as knowledgeable ( but you lack any sense of objectivity when you comment on cricket. A team scores 615 runs and bats for 2 days and a session in their knocks and you have had it down as if it was unplayable and dark forces were involved while at the same time giving our players a free pass for getting bowled out for 134. They were poor you got it wrong and you were wrong an irrational when you accuse Indians of cheating.

And no the duke ball point isn't down to a 'lack of knowledge' - England can choose to use whatever ball they like to use in English conditions. They choose the Duke ball not because they always have, they do so because of its prodigious seam and hardness allowing it to seam and swing for longer periods suiting our bowlers. We choose to use it because it gives us an advantage, which is fine as is preparing big turning pitches in India.

If theres one thing tiresome about being an England fan in any sport it's the near consensus that every win of ours is achieved through skill and sporting superiority whereas every team can only win against England if theres at least a whiff of conspiracy or some other moral failing at play.

the Broad 8-15? pitcj? eh?

that pitch was absolitely fine, it wasnt green top at all

Joe Root scored a big 100 immediately after we bowled them out

we actually declared during our first innings :lol::lol:

you cant just make stuff up and get away with it you know?

thats just an utter lie, like nearly everything you say

talking utter shite, I dont think you even watch cricket, we do it every time? what about this summer? it didnt happen once.
Sharma scored a 150, and their number 8 a 100. Contradicts your point completely. And your attitude destroys any credibility you have

It wasn't possible that Waqar and Wasim could reverse swing the ball without being accused of cheating. If we couldn't do it they couldn't do it. Atherton with the dirt in his pocket or Tres with his sweets adding external substance to the ball is just a bit of a misunderstanding but if Asian cricketers do it there's hell to pay.

...well the ball was dripping wet ;)

Contradiction in terms there, do we do it? Or don’t we?

I don’t actually think we do. I can’t remember the last time in this country where we produced a pitch that was tailored to us as significantly as this one to India.

The Dukes ball does what the Dukes ball does, the weather does what the weather does and that’s generally the ‘home advantage’ we have. Majority of pitches in England are geared towards making the most money possible for the host venue and FTECB.

Yeah test wickets are definitely prepared in this country to get money from fans and last longer

Well if your argument is that the Broad 8 wicket pitch was fine because Root scored a hundred then on this pitch Rohit scored a hundred in the 1st day and Ashwin non the 3rd day.

I can't believe it's even worth a conversation that a home side sets pitches up to suit their style of play. This is part of test match cricket.

This pitch was set up to suit their bowlers but it also isn't any where near as bad as the like of Vaughan have made it out to be. If I was Kohli and the Indian management team, I'd be making sure the remaining tests have a similar pitch prepared.

Personally I find the opposite, and I’m guilty of it myself whether it be England cricket, Yorkshire or Hull City. If we lose it’s because we’re shite. If we win it’s because the opponents were shite or there was some caveat.

Gambling a bit if they lose the toss. They’ve had no issue for years on pitches similar to the one used in the 1st test

I don't think the toss had as big of an impact on this test as it did the first. They have just played the conditions better than we have.

Their bowling attack has been better in this test too. Axar Patel has been a big improvement on Washington/Nadeem.

That is how wickets are prepared at all levels surely. There are some good bowlers at league level.

it is the antics of Kholi and Shastri that should be looked at.

I agree but scoreboard pressure played a part, I think we knew they had got around 70/80 runs too many in their 1st innings. Day/night test should hopefully be a better pitch
