India v England series

Definitely I have been looking forward to seeing Foakes play and he was been a joy to watch. Stone I hadn’t seen much of but he looks like he wold be handy in Australia.

I must admit I like him mainly. I thought he was a class act as a person in the England series when they lost heavily and in the first test here. He has been a twat this match mind
I can’t abide a cheat. So far he’s refused to walk when clean bowled, we’ve had histrionics in field and now he’s argued with an umpire after getting a warning for cheating. Compare to how Root conducts himself. He’s such a gifted batsman but I cannot enjoy his talent when he behaves like this, which is a massive shame imo.

On another note I quite agree re. Foakes. Been really looking forward to seeing him and it’s great to see him excel. I’ve said previously it’s a shame in a way for him that he’s around at a time we have 2 world class keeper-batsman, looks like we have 3 now. Going to be a headache going forward how we use them, but a good one to have.

Different game when the ball has gone soft
Stone consistently bowling 88-90 on this deck, impressive.

More stumpings today than Jos Buttler has in his entire Test career.
Yes that’s true he’s an exceptional talent. I just love England cricket and don’t have agendas.

He's just wrong like, sucking up to the Indians as usual.

England dont product pitches like that, and when they rarely do, they get widely criticised for it. However, he seems to think that India are beyong criticism here. He keeps referencing the Lords test match against India, which was nothing to do with the pitch, which was flat. It was completed covered over in cloud and Jimmy and Woakes swung it round corners. We literally cant do anything about that! Cant get God to remove the clouds can we. When the sun game out, the pitch was fine, the flattest of the summer, and Chris Woakes made a 100 from it.

There is no aversion to spinning pitches, I like them, the cricket on the last 2 tours of Sri Lanka has been great.

This is a sub standard pitch, not up to international standards, and it has been an absolutely awful spectacle. The only argument he has seems to be that Rohit made runs on it, so what if he did? good for him, class innings. But its been an absolute lottery.

I honestly think if a county side rocket up and won that toss they'd be well ahead of the game. Its just not what I want to see in international sport.

As Mark Waugh pointed out on twitter, on the very first morning, regulation spin balls were taking huge chunks out of the good part of the pitch, not even where the footholes were. Thats not normal like, I've literally never seen that happen in 30 years.

Sub of the usual idiot journos trying to twist the argument as they daren't criticse India, usual stuff.

Bit of a meaningless test this for me, I'll watch the highlights but wont be tuning in, pointless cricket.

Not here, the blokes a complete tosser.

I've met him numerous times through work, you'll struggle to find a bloke more up his own arse.

....and before you say me...I am actually very placid and quiet in real life, which is why I like to vent on here. I am not like Larry David, and have a filter.

Swann responded to him saying England need to get on with it and learn how to win on spinning pitches. He must have forget we’d won 6 tests in a row in Asia

This pitch is just a very challenging sub continent pitch where the key is survival while the ball is hard and it’s much easier when the ball is softer. If the likes of Sharma, Kohli, Ashwin and Foakes can bat like they have on it the key issue here is how badly we batted and how poorly modern bowled first up. Losing the toss was crucial, they have outplayed us from ball one but the pitch is no big deal. Our players and staff will just accept it no problem. Huge positives in Foakes, Leach and Stone.

People love moaning about female broadcasters on here, but give me all of them over the Indian commentators here.

I'd probably rather listen to Vaughan + Swann than the Indian lads on this broadcast. Actually, maybe not.

If one side can get 400 runs in the space of two days or so but you cant make 150 in the same period, its clearly not the pitch which is at fault

I think foakes needs to be our keeper me he is just a class above for me. So smooth and makes it look easy

happy for Ali.

Come on then who’s got a 12 hour innings in them 😂😂
